First of all, if you are a Twilight fan, please leave now :)

All right then,
do you guys find it annoying that Twilight fans link every Paramore songs to Twilight saga?!?!?!?!

Well, I do.
:monster:

Paramore is a great band. I honestly love it.
But I really hate it if such a great band is always related to a crappy movie like Twilight.
:monster:

I mean, I know someone who never liked Paramore before but after she watched Twilight, she was like "Paramore is such a great band!!!"

Anyone agree?

Well, cookie monster agrees

This type of thing happens to alot of bands, unfortunately.

Also, I was disappointed to see Muse on the Twilight Soundtrack.

Me too....
Muse might get more fans but their new "fans" probably never heard of them before.

I also hated it when Twilight fans started to like Ok Go(shooting the moon) just because it was in New Moon.

It's just sad. Very sad.

I'd never really heard of Muse until they were on the Twilight soundtrack...

Paramore's a good band, but, Twilight gave them a lot of fans, even though they only liked them because of the Twilight movies. I never paired them with Twilight, because they are so much better.

Yeah this kinda thing really bugs me. I really liked Paramore and still do but I'm in no way a twilight fan. It just kinda wrecks Paramore's image too if everyone thinks they are the 'Official Twilight Band'.

On the other hand, I am very glad that the soundtrack to Iron Man 2 is ACDC.

AC/DC is awesome. At least it's a band that was around, and already had a excellent fan base. It's not just associated with Iron Man.

Paramore is associated with Twilight. Every time I hear about them, it's always "The Twilight Band". Nothing more, nothing less.

Paramore is my favorite band.
Twilight, no!

Just so sad that Paramore is now related to sparkly vampires.

And heck!
The Twilight Band?!?!?!?!
Paramore?!?!?!?!?!

NO DAMN WAY!!

That's how I felt about Muse, too. "Really guys, REALLY?" D: Fly Leaf is also a band that I love that was on the soundtrack, but I ended up actually liking the song they sang so I downloaded it to my ipod and of course the Album art is Edward and Bella. It makes me sound so crazy immature, but I don't like looking at that, xD

Likewise with Muse though, certainly in Europe (although not as big as AC/DC obviously :p). Muse have been popular here for a number of years- most certainly pre Twilight movie. Supermassive Blackholes was from their 4th studio album, with them already establishing themselves mainstream with Showbiz/Origin of Symmetry (Although i am aware of the fact that this may not be necessarily so outside of Europe). Personally, I can say that I don't associate them with Twilight at all.

However, sadly the same can't be said for Paramore they are very much linked to the franchise, for me :/

I had no idea any of these bands (outside of Paramore) were even affiliated with Twilight.

Probably because I've never seen the movies, or really pay attention to anything involving it. lol

Besides Paramore and Muse, there's Linkin Park, Collective Soul and The Killers, among others (that I haven't even heard of) included in the two movies soundtracks. :monster:

Also, Tiff Flyleaf is not on the soundtrack, at least not on the official ones.

How the fuck has NOBODY mentioned Death Cab For Cutie?

Seeing Death Cab on the track listing made me rage a little, even if they were accompanied by quite a few other great bands (Anya Maria, Iron & Wine, Grizzly Bear, Editors) and the song used in the movie was pretty good. I guess Death Cab is far from being considered independent anymore anyways, I should probably be far more offended by the fact that my beloved Iron & Wine is on the soundtrack with a song far more beautiful than the subject matter of the shitty movie it's accompanying. Yet... Death Cab, what the fuck man. Shit grinds my gears.

Although really I've always tried not to be a snooty faggot about what music I listen to, and even though Twilight just generally sucks shit at least a lot of what I consider good music is becoming more popular. I don't really care about "selling out", people need/want money and so long as your music doesn't change fucking drastically I don't care.

And really, the Twilight soundtrack is actually much better and more worthwhile than anything in either of the movies.

That being said, if one more Twilight-loving bitch comments on a Florence and the Machine video talking about how her music should be in the next Twilight movie I will personally hunt them down and kick them in the face.

HOWL ISN'T ABOUT WEREWOLVES IT'S ABOUT SEX FUCK ALL OF YOU

I stopped caring about this kind of thing a long time ago. Got to swallow your pride every once in a while if you want to be successful, you know?

Really? I heard that "There For You" was on the Twilight Soundtrack and then when I downloaded it, there was a Twilight picture. O.O Maybe she wrote the song based off of Twilight? God, let's hope not!

No. There's a thing called morals, and dignity. Fucking Pink refused to sing for Prince William because he's a hunter, and she doesn't believe in that. That's just an example. Bands like Green Day promised never to sell out and become just like every other band, but they let their fans down by doing EXACTLY the opposite of what they promised. I don't think you need to lose your pride, to be successful. REAL success comes from being you.

Yeah, that's not what I was talking about. Having your songs on some teeny-bopper movie soundtrack isn't exactly going against your morals.

And good for Pink, who is already mainstream and doesn't need to sing for Prince William in order to make a living, and good for Green Day, who are probably at the height of their career right now, winning Grammys and all that.

Being able to "be yourself" and "not sell out" are both nice, romantic ideals, but I wouldn't count on real life allowing such luxuries to last very long.

I remember when I was still in college, having a class where my teacher was in a band, and one of my classmates who was younger than I am go on a tangent about how musicians should never sell out, spurred by the fact that my teacher mentioned how his banned had a gig playing at some corporate function for a local company. In the end my teacher lost his temper and said something along the lines of, "I have three kids and a mortgage, what else should I do?"

So yes, sometimes you do have to do stuff you don't want to do. But whose to say that that's even the case? Maybe the people in these bands actually do like Twilight. We might think it's crap but maybe they actually read the books and enjoyed them?

TL;DR Just ignore the Twitards and the fact that your favorite band has one song on some movie soundtrack. It's no big deal.

As for Linkin Park: Is being on a Twilight album really such a step down for them? lol

Well it was a music college, so everyone was pretty much in a band. :monster:

But then when I switched and went for web design I had a teacher there who was also in a band. lol

Well, in my class, there's this guy who knows how to play the drums only.
And it wasn't even good music. It hurt all our ears.

Good thing he transfered already :D

Well, I heard from a friend that he's gotten better. He attended a summer course for drums.

Our school is not a music school but there are plenty of musicians there.
One guy played the guitar to court the girl she likes, who also knows how to play the guitar.
And there's this girl who knows how to play drums too.
We also have flute players and violinist.
And one of them knows how to play the organ.
But most of them are singers.
Don't mean to brag but I can play the piano. But I can't do the fast ones :monster:

I doubt artists really have a choice about using their music on films, shows or what have you. Unless that is, you're The Beatles or Nirvana or something. They make a ton of money off those kind off that kind of stuff. Not gonna lie, I'd probably do it.

And you know, some really terrible movies have awesome soundtracks. There's no shame appreciating that aspect if you genuinely like it.

Maybe someone made her own soundtrack and put it online for others to download? :awesome:

I bitched about Death Cab being on the soundtrack so bad. Mostly because they ended up playing at Hot Topic and now at shows I'm going to have to deal with fucking twitards. I'm bitter, okay? I'm not super snotty about indie music to the point where I don't want anyone else to listen to the bands I know -- I'm one of the few people who didn't mind when Death Cab and Modest Mouse went mainstream -- but they just don't belong in Twilight. idk it's a shitty movie I don't feel like it deserves good music. You can dress up a turd but it's STILL A TURD.

Paramore I don't even mind because Hayley confessed that she was a fan of the series. But Death Cab? Iron & Wine? What the flying fuck.
