Seeing a lot of hate for this online. (Kotaku for example)
Mostly people jumping on the Sandler hate-wagon. While I can't really take issue with anyone who hates Sandler or his contemporary films. Hating on him for this trailer seems over the top. Not to say the movie won't be chalked full of REALLY terrible jokes, but I see nothing to get offended over right now. In fact I think if precisely the same movie trailer were released, without Sandler's face on it, these people would be creaming themselves.
Which I would argue they pretty much did when the first images of Wreck It Ralph came out, but I digress. I hope this is good. The Pac Man meeting his maker part was just awesome.

I'll give it a shot, was quite interested when I first heard it was announced. I think people jump on the Adam Sandler hate bandwagon because he uses the same jokes over and over, which I can't blame them for at the same time.
The fact that Pac-Man and Donkey Kong are evil makes me it intriguing. Plus, this is going to be full of so many gaming references (or at least I hope it will!) that I just won't be able to stay away.

Adam Sandler was the most overpaid actor in Hollywood in 2014 and 2013. It's not just that critics don't like him; audiences don't either. I'm not really sure how he finds so much work.
Even if you were a Sandler fan, you'd have to admit that there's not much diversity in his films. He doesn't exactly do "quality". That's probably why people get so apprehensive when they find out he's been cast in a new film - regardless of his own acting performance, it's a sign that the whole project might be a bit tacky. That's definitely the feeling I get from this film's trailer. Actually, let me go further than that. It looks awful.

I think that some other thing that I saw for this was more obvious about it being the game that the geek/nerd/whoevers in the film all played, and that the site appears to be a game-based form of viral marketing for them. Not sure why it was all subliminal in the trailer.
