I think it's neat that the protagonist Predator seems to be designed after
"Broken Tusk" from the 90s AvP comics, which
folks have been speculating about since the initial teaser trailer. It definitely seems like they're actually doing a decent job of stitching together Predators & Weyland-Yutani elements with a lot of nods to what came before similarly to how
Alien Romulus had a lot of elements pulled from the previous films as well as
Alien Isolation and other media.
With
Predator: Killer of Killers recently also being done by Dan Trachtenberg, it really feels like there's finally a more concrete & well-established sense of the wider galaxy that's always been a staple of the
AvP comics being pulled into a cinematic presentation. I'm also curious if the other dangerous non-Xenomorph alien species from
Alien Earth will be anything that we see here, since that also makes perfect sense if they're trying to build up to an
AvP film that can actually have things like the androids & colonial marines that finally feels like a natural crossover.
All-in-all, I'm nothing but excited for this.
