PS5 version - When?

I'm dying to get my hands on the PS5 version of this game.

The PS4 Pro only runs the game at 30fps and roughly 1440p. Imagine the PS5 version at 60fps and 2160p, with maybe ray tracing.
Very surprised we haven't heard anything about this. Also surprised FF7R PS5 was not a launch title for the system, as it needs games right now.

Im guessing we'll see the PS5 version around when Sony exclusivity ends in April. Will surely get a Series X version then too

My completely baseless guess would either be an announcement on January 31st 2021, because 24th anniversary of the original, or otherwise around the one year anniversary of the PS4 release.

I think a month or two before exclusivity ends you'll see them ramping up a bit of hype for the re-release. Think about it: Xbox, PC and PS5. That's a whoooole lot of revenue coming their way.

I just really hope that the Tifa chapter they cut out becomes DLC. Man, would that be a great way to break up the wait for Part 2.

Makes me wonder if they add even more to Tifa DLC to make it even more worth our while. Like what she might have been doing when Cloud was helping Jessie on the plate. Or some such.

Man... one can only hope. I can't imagine them just sitting on their thumbs since April. I know they are in full production on Part 2 but surely they could have assigned a small group to work on some DLC, no? I'm not in the industry so I'm just whistling Dixie here, but why not? Right?

I was reading somewhere[citation needed] that there was no plan to release a PS5 version, and only rely on PS5-PS4 retro-compatibility (which apparently is running at 30 fps, 4K). Likewise SE would be able to dedicate their resources only for the development of the next installment. I personally think it's disappointing but understandable.
I wouldn't get my hopes up about a new PS5 version.
