Quvenzhané Wallis to play 'Annie' in new version

Apparently we will be getting a new version of Annie and she will be played by an African American girl named Quvenzhané Wallis.She was in "Beast Of The Southern Wilds" and has been nominated for Best Acress for playing in that movie.

I can say this looks interesting and promising.I kinda of giddy about a Black Annie.And it would make sense if it took place in the modern era for it to happen.

Im not sure how I feel about Emma Thompson (white, british) writing for what im guessing is going to be a more modern take on annie, set in a more multi cultural setting. She wrote Nanny McFee, but that was middle class english kinda film. I guess we'll see.

I think Will Smith and JayZ are involved somehow.

I don't know about you but Quvenzhane is just so cute.I don't know about you but I think they picked the right person in replacing Willow in the role of Annie.I have also heard that she is a spectacular singer which is a need for someone playing this iconic character.Speaking of which I wonder if the setting will take place in New York City like in the other adaptions.I also wonder if they are going to change up a few things because orphanages are no longer apart of the adoption system in America.I think that Annie now will be living in a group home if they researched anything about the adoption/fostering system.

One thing I hope they do is actually research the adoption system in America because obviously a lot of things have changed since the 1930's.The most notable thing is the fact that orphanages no longer are a big part of the foster care system.There are still orphanages but they are not as popular as they once were.

Speaking of which I wonder who is going to play Miss Hannigan.Anyone have any guesses who could it possibly be.
