Rufus Shinra's dinner party

Ok, you might like this or you might not, but I'm bored of the LTD, so here goes:

Rufus Shinra is having a big formal dinner party, and you are invited. Because it's one of those silver service do's, with tuxedos, champagne glasses, and six forks in different sizes, the seating arrangements are also very formal. Your seat will be assigned to you. However, you get to choose who you would like to sit between. For the duration of the evening, these are the two people with whom you will be making most of your conversation (not love, or war; sorry). So who, from all the Compilation, would you choose to talk to for four hours straight?

Because it's such a very very posh affair, traditional seating rules apply. So girls, you'll have a guy on either side of you, and guys, you'll have two girls.
For the sake of argument, even the dead can come to this party.

To start off, I'll say that I'd choose Cid and Reeve - Cid because I'm sure he has an endless supply of interesting stories to tell, and would make me laugh; and Reeve because he's so suave he'd get me to talk about myself and make me feel he was really interested.

Interesting idea, although my answer depends on a coupel of varibles...

1. Is this during when Rufus was President, Vice President or post FF7? (Yes this matters to me plus people die at various points)
2. Are the characters there only those in good with ShinRa? (Just assuming that It would be odd to have people like Barret or Elfe there considering how they feel about ShinRa and Rufus...)

Huh! Now this is an interesting topic. -)

I'd choose Vincent and Angeal. Angeal... well, he's just that kind of guy you woudn't mind flirt with for four hours straight.
And Vincent because he would be totally silent and thus allow me to look at him whenever I want whithout the need to start a conversation. I srsly woudn't know what to talk about with him, but he's a good looking lad.

One the one side, I'd have Reno just because he seems like the type of guy who'd make easy conversation, which is a great offset to somewhat shy and awkward individuals such as myself. On the other side I'd have Rude. We'd laugh at Reno's dumbass antics together

Answer is rather conventional but they're an entertaining pair, and probably the two in the Compilation I'd like to hang out with the most (throw Elena in there and it'd be a riot).

Interesting query. Certainly the kind that gives those of us in the FFVII audience the opportunity to go into the heads of these characters and present how we perceive them. Which is also interesting to others in the audience.

I'm going to picture this scenario as post-ACC.

Without a doubt, one of my picks would be Reeve. Like Licorice said, he seems like he'd be genuinely interested in talking with you and learning whatever he could. As well, he's the main character we've gotten the fewest opportunities to know the thoughts of.

Furthermore, he's the only member of AVALANCHE who seems to be without some kind of superhuman strength or agility, so he'd likely have a different perspective from the others on battle because of that. Further still, as the only member of the team who actually worked for Shin-Ra for however many years, I'd be interested in his perspective on all the developments that had taken place, and on his feelings about the company.

The other person, I'd pick... hard to say. Either Reno or Rufus himself.

Reno would be fun to shoot the shit with, I'm sure. Plus, I'd be interested in how he and Reeve would interact given how obviously different they are.

As for Rufus, I'd be very interested in his perspective on everything, as well as in how he and Reeve speak to one another. Do they respect each other? Trust one another? Does Rufus maybe see Reeve as someone to look to for guidance on how to redeem himself?

Damn the option to only pick two, Licorice! But it forces you to really think about who interests you.

Tifa and Aerith, as I might as well talk to the female characters that are actually characters.

Or that and girls having boyfriends in the army never stopped me before.

But really, this is sort of a skewed system. The majority of the FF7 cast is male, so any guy that responds has severely limited options with which to answer (and I want to talk to Reeve).

If I was going the fangirl route, I'd go with Cid and Vincent. I'd like to think we could sit in a far corner and be snarky.

Just for the sake of being interesting my other choice would be to sit between Dr. Gast and Dr. Hojo. Imagine the things you'd hear between those two?

Tough one... normally I'd say Yuffie, but I don't know if I'd backdown on the chance to sit between Cloud and Sephiroth and see their reaction when I tell them to "Kiss and make up."

But then again next to Cloud and Yuffie would be fun too. I'd purposefully wear a lot of stuff with materia on it so Yuffie could steal it and I'd pretend not to notice
... and then I'd throw food ad Cloud.. .yeah that sounds good.

I'd have Tifa on one side because I'd be a dumbass otherwise. Honestly, she's nice, funny, pretty, and her boyfriend/whatever is isn't proactive enough to kill me if we flirt a bit.

On the other side I'd have Scarlet. A few choice words here and there... maybe trigger a slap fight...
