Smashville: A Super Smash Bros. Fanfic

Hello. I'm back. First off, for those wondering about my Pokémon fanfic, it's on indefinite hiatus for at least until ORAS come out. I'd been suffering severe writer's block anyway. This fic is set in Smashville, a place where every character from every game ever on a Nintendo console comes together. Major characters include Waluigi(the main character of the fic), Ness, and the Beatles(when I said every character from every game, I meant it), among others. Believe it or not, Dunsparce will not have a major role in this fic, though it'll probably appear. It should be noted this fic will not have much of an overaching plot, though it will have character arcs here and there. The genres it encompasses include Friendship, Romance, Humor, and more. Many aspects of Waluigi's character in this story come from a friend of mine on the GameFAQs Super Smash Bros. boards, Waluigi7, including a love of the Beatles(I even gave him the same favorite Beatle, album, and song), and a friendship with Ness(Waluigi7's main). However, a Waluigi/Nana romance would be too difficult to write and make plausible, so it won't be included. Here's a brief description of some of the characters in the story:

Waluigi: A businessman and owner of several establishments including Waabucks, Walmart, Waluigi's Taco Stand, and Waluigi's Bridal Boutique. Wario is his brother, and his best friend is Ness, whom he binded with over a mutual love of the Beatles. Has an unrequited crush on Daisy.
Ness: A young boy with Psychic powers. He and his close friends Waluigi, Jeff, Poo, and Lucas love the Beatles, as does his girlfriend Paula.
Alfonzo: An employee of Waluigi's. When Waluigi is away, Alfonzo takes control of managing his businesses. To quote Alfonzo: "Leave it to me!"
The Beatles: The most famous band ever. They recently moved to Smashville, and have an upcoming concert at Waluigi Stadium, and are currently living with the man himself.
Ridley: A large space pirate, who is on the run from the law. Loves the Beatles. Hopes to actually compete in a Smash tournament, instead of just be a boss.
Porky: Ness's former friend turned megalomaniac.
Red: A kind young trainer. His Pokemon include Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Pichu, Mewtwo, Lucario, Ivysaur, Charizard, Squirtle, Rayquaza, Greninja, and Dunsparce, among others.
Bowser: King of the Koopas, who often kidnaps Peach. Loves heavy metal.
Captain Falcon: A bounty hunter currently tasked with tracking down Ridley. His mighty punch is a deadly weapon.
Donkey and Diddy Kong: Two apes who are inseperable pals. Diddy is Donkey's nephew. They are dating Candy and Dixie Kong, respectively.
Mario: Luigi's brother and Peach's boyfriend, Mario is a herouc plumber with many jobs, including, but not limited to doctor, referee, go kart racer, etc. A Beatles fan.
Falco: Fox's best friend and fellow pilot.
Fox: Falco's best friend and fellow pilot. Wolf's rival.
Ganondorf: Gerudo King and Link's archenemy.
Nana and Popo: A pair of Ice Climbing siblings.
Ike: Head of the Greil Mercenaries. Weilds the mighty Ragnell and has the great Aether ability. Recently announced his being invited to the smash tournament again.
King Dedede: Self-proclaimed king of Dreamland. A sometimes enemy sometimes ally of Kirby.
Kirby: A brave young hero with the power to eat and copy the abilities of others.
Link: A young hero with great courage.
Little Mac: A former boxing champ trained by Doc Louis. He recently got an invite to the next Smash tournament.
Lucas: A young psychic who is friends with Ness. Is a Beatles fan.
Luigi: A young plumber who despite being overshadowed by his brother Mario, actually has more fans. Is rivals with Waluigi, and has a mutual crush on Daisy.
Marth: King of Archanea. Husband of Caeda.
Mega Man: A robotic boy created by Dr. Light. Got a recent invite to the next Smash tournament.
Meta Knight: An anti-hero and occaisional ally of Kirby's, he won the last tournament by a landslide.
Peach: Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom and Mario's girlfriend. Likes the Beatles.
Olimar: A diminutive spacegoer who travels with his Pikmin. Has a family.
Pit: Palutena's young champion. He wields the Sacred Treasures.
Rosalina: Caretaker of the Lumas. Was recently invited to the next Smash tournament. Loves the Beatles.
Roy: A Lord from Elibe. Was not invited to the last tournament, despite being invited to the previous one, and is bitter about it.
Samus: A bounty hunter going after Ridley, whom she has history with.
Snake: A secret agent, and a Beatles fan. Refuses to reveal whether or not he's invited to the next tournament.
Sonic: A hedgehog who's gotta go fast, and thinks others are too slow.
Villager: Mayor of Smashville, and a newcomer to the Smash tournament.
Wario: Waluigi's brother, and owner of WarioWare, Inc.
Wii Fit Trainer: A personal trainer recently invited to the next smash tournament.
Wolf: An Arwing pilot and Fox's rival.
Yoshi: A friend of Mario's.
Zelda: Princess of Hyrule.

Chapter 1: Come Together

"Here come old flattop. He come grooving up slowly..." Come Together was playing in the Beatles' van as they entered Smashville. They had recently decided to move here, and had been offered a home by a fan of theirs named Waluigi, who had also booked them a concert at his stadium. They were to perform the entirety of their Sgt. Peppers album, along with Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields Forever, I am the Walrus, and Hello, Goodbye. They made sure they were styled and outfitted to look like they did on the cover of the album. They were on their way to meet him at his coffee shop, Waabucks.

There, Waluigi was in a good mood. He was currently watching his Luigi cam, and laughed at Luigi's bewildered expression as he found 3 pounds of salt poured on his garden, courtesy of the purple prankster himself. Suddenly, on his record player, which was playing his favorite album, Magical Mystery Tour, his favorite song, Hello, Goodbye came on. He became even happier.

"I can't wait to meet the Beatles," his employee and best friend, Ness, said. He was happy Wal was in such a good mood. It was rare to find him in one, as he usually wallowed in self-pity. Unless their were customers, where he'd act egotistical to hide his inner demons.

"Come Together, right now, over me." the Beatles' radio blared as they pulled up to the coffee shop.

"We're here to speak to Waluigi," John Lennon said as they entered.

Waluigi fainted.

After recovering, Waluigi and the Beatles talked a bit, before going out and putting posters for the upcoming concert all over the city.

It didn't take long before the posters got noticed.

"A Beatles concert?" Reggie said. "My body is ready."

Ridley swooped down to get a closer look at one of the posters. "Sweet, a Beatles concert." Suddenly, he noticed a famous bounty hunter nearby. "Shit, Boba Fett. I better hoghtail it before he notices me."

Mario and Peach were on a walk when they noticed one of the posters. Peach quickly called Rosalina to tell her about it.

"Omigosh really?"

"Really."

"But who will take care of the Lumas?" Rosalina realized.

"Leave it to me," Alfonzo said, coming out of nowhere. Rosalina stared at him in bewilderment, before agreeing.

"Ooh, a Beatles concert," Bowser said, noticing a poster. "I love some of their work, such as Helter Skelter, Revolution, and The End."

"Whoa Mac Baby, there's a Beatles concert," Doc Louos said, as they noticed one of the posters whilst training.

"We should go," Mac suggested.

"Snake, I need you to get us tickets to the Beatles concert ASAP." the Colonel said over Codec.

"You got it Colonel," Snake replied. He hid in a cardboard box and stealthily made his way to a ticket booth.

"Whoa, a Beatles concert," Ganondorf said. He went to buy a ticket, but...

"You're too slow," Sonic taunted. "I bought the last one!"

"Dammit," Ganondorf said. "Sold out already!"

This is the chapter where character arcs really start to get going. The previous chapter was just a setup for this one.

Chapter 2: With a Little Help From My Friends

Waluigi sat next to Ness at the sold-out concert. Next to Ness was Paula, his girlfriend, and next to her Jeff, then Poo, then Lucas. Porky sat in the row behind Ness. In the row in front of them was Wario and several of his employees, such as Mona, Jimmy T., Kat, Ana, and Ashley.

Soon all the seats were full except the one to Waluigi's left. "Wonder whose that is."

"Maybe it's Ridley's." Ness suggested. Ridley was currently sitting in the aisle, too big to fit in any of the seats.

"Nah, we knew from the beginning he was gonna be too big, so we made one more ticket than there were seats."

Just then, the presumed owner of the empty seat entered. She had blonde hair that covered her right eye, and was almosts Waluigi's height. She looked familiar, but Waluigi couldn't figure out why.

She sat down next to him. "Hi, Waluigi," she greeted.

"Do I know you?" he asked.

"We've raced a few times before." she said.

"Hmm, I thought I recognized you from somewhere. What was your name again?"

"Rosalina," she replied. She wasn't all that shocked he forgot her name, as they'd never really interacted much before.

"So you're the one who got invited to the tournament over me," Waluigi said bitterly.

"I had no say in it. I didn't choose to enter, I was chosen," she defended.

"Fair enough," Waluigi said.

"So, I take it you like the Beatles, Waluigi," Rosalina said, trying to make small talk.

"Like them? I love them! They're my favorite band," Wal exclaimed.

"Really, me too." Rosalina said.

"Ssh, the concert's starting," Porky interrupted from behind.

Sure enough, before long, Paul was playing the openingnchords of Sgt. Pepper's.

"It was 20 years ago today, Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play..." Paul sang. After Paul was done singing the opening lines, the brass instruments came in, and afterwards, all four Beatles started to sing.

"We're Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, we hope you will enjoy the show..."

The song continued, and when it got to the part where Paul introduced "Billy Shears", Rosalina got really excited.

"Oh yay, Ringo's gonna sing!"

"Is he your favorite?" Waluigi inquired.

"Uh-huh"

"I like John myself."

Before long, the band was chanting "Billy Shears" and With a Little Help from My Friends started up.

"What would you think if I sang out of tune? Would you stand up and walk out on me? Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song, and I'll try not to sing out of key." Ringo sang. "Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends..."

When the song had started, Rosalina asked Wal a question.

"Do you think, we could be... friends?"

"I don't see why not," he said. Friends were so few and far between for him, he'd take what he could get. "Though I must ask, why me?"

"Once you get past your irrational hatred of Luigi, your cheating, and your petty nature, you're not so bad," she replied. "Besided, more friends can't hurt, can it?"

Several people sitting nearby butted in.

"Friendship is awesome!" Marth said.

"My friends are my power!" Sora said.

"I fight for my friends!" Ike said.

"That's what bein' friends is about," Ness said.

"Hey guys, we should befriend Waluigi too!" Sora suggested.

"Yeah!" Marth agreed.

Meanwhile, the song continued. "What do I do when my love is away?" Ringo sang.

"Does it worry you to be alone?" the other Beatles sang.

"How do I feel by the end of the day?"

"Are you sad because you're on your own?"

"No, I get by with a little help from my friends. Mmm, I get high with a little help from my friends, Mmm, gonna try with a little help from my friends."

"Do you need anybody?"

"I need somebody to love."

"Could it be anybody?"

"I want somebody to love."

"Would you believe in a love at first sight?"

"Yes, I'm certain that it happens all the time."

"What do you see when you turn out the light?"

"I can't tell you but I know it's mine."

All the singing of love made Waluigi think of Daisy, and when he looked over to see her with Luigi it made him sad.

As you can see, friendship is a heavy theme of this chapter, and Waluigi has made the first few of several friends he'll make of the course of the series.
