This looks fail. But then again I dislike any movie where a kid or teenager trains for a cuple of weeks or months with an old master and is suddenly a black-belt level martial artist. It doesn't fucking work that way.

It takes years to develop that kind of skill.

Hollywood should really open up their minds and at least do some research. There a BIG difference between kung-fu and karate, let alone countries like China, Korea and Japan are NOT the same country, and don't share the exact same culture!

I hope there's a scene where Karate/Kung Fu Kid eats some sushi after Tai Chi and his girlfriend is studying to be a geisha but his Tae Kwon Do expert rival spoils it for her.

Also, that they're all good at maths. I might see it then.

The whole film happens during a tournament. So the Cool Westerner can stomp on in and show up those Geeky Asians who sit around playing video games all day.

Rival will miss the big final fight because his ultra-strict parents beat him for not getting all A's at school.

Also, some Muslim terrorists are hiding somewhere.

I might watch this movie as a DVD rental, it might actually be worth renting for fun. At the very least Jackie Chan is always fun to watch. The Forbidden Kingdom was only watchable because of the badass fight scenes and the Monkey King.

Never seen the original Karate Kid. On the one hand, Jackie Chan is always a joy to watch. On the other hand:

Chan has told interviewers that film cast members have been referring to the movie as The Kung Fu Kid and believes the film will only be called Karate Kid in America, and Kung Fu Kid in Asia

Yeah I'm honestly not bothered. Like one of the comments said, the fact that they called it "The Karate Kid" could just be for marketing purposes to get people to watch it. Chan said himself that it's not really a remake.

Of course. I'm not implying the movie's already crap just because the title's wrong. I've hardly watched it for myself, so I can't say as of now whether the movie's good or bad.

I'm going to see it, it can't possibly be worse than the Karate Kid part 3 and The Next Karate Kid though yeah last I check kung fu and karate are not the same thing
