The clawed tentacles look very much like the ones in The Mist which is a nice hat tip to that bit of cosmic horror.

Wasn't there a thrad about this one yet or was that part of e.g. the E3 thrad?

I could've sworn there was, too. I couldn't find it, but the new Search has thrown me for a loop a couple other times already. It's possible that it was a part of an e3 thrad though, as that happens with a lot of games.
