My friend talks me into going to see the employee pre-screening of Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon.
We get there and we decide to help clean theatres because they were understaffed and really backed up because ALL of the pre-screenings for the public sold out COMPLETELY (there were a pair at 9, then another pair at 12). So I get a garbage bag and start RUNNING because it's a SOLD OUT AUDITORIUM WHICH SEATS 400 PEOPLE and therefore very messy. Also not to mention, the movie itself is so fucking long that there was only a 15 minute turnaround period to clean and then let the line up in before the show starts.
This was going on in TWO AUDITORIUMS AT THE SAME TIME.
Before you ask, while it would be possible for them to have started the show later, this would mean the employees would have to close the concession stand later. This would mean they would probably finish closing duties after 1 in the morning.
So yes I am running and start sweating madly because I am in my street clothes while running up and down stairs carrying heavy garbage bags. Normally during an actual shift I'd be wearing a loose t-shirt for a uniform. But since I was just helping off-shift I was in a hoodie and jeans. Needless to say, not fun.
I then go to the compactor to get rid of these bags after we've finished cleaning. I have my headphones while I am doing this. Throw a bag in. Headphones get caught. Goodbye headphones ;_;
This gets me really mad, but I figure if the movie is good then I won't care having lost a cheap pair of headphones. But no. The movie was a steaming pile of shit. Less than shit. It was a three our movie that could have easily been an hour and twenty minutes. NOTHING happens in the first hour. The plot is less stupid than the second one but is painfully predictable and awkwardly paced. Despite some really good actors in the movie, you don't really care for any of the characters. The gags were not funny at all. The action scenes were not well choreographed. THE ROBOTS WEREN'T EVEN FEATURED THAT PROMINENTLY UNTIL PROBABLY THE LAST HOUR.
Not to mention there was this... bizarre use of music. It feels as though Michael Bay was trying to be artistic with this film? I'm not exactly sure but it was really offensive to my senses.
Ugh why did I even agree to go. I have to wake up for work in 5 hours. This movie has literally RUINED MY DAY and the only reason I haven't slept yet is so I could vent about all the frustration it has caused.

So, my dad's been working for this new company for ~ a year. He's finally settled in, and about a month ago decided to buy a house closer to his job to cut down his commute time (he's been living in apartments for the last 8 years, and has really been wanting a place of his own). He got everything situated, got his loans in place and will probably be able to pay them off in ~15 years if things go well. He signed on the place maybe 2 weeks ago, got everything situated. He bought new appliances last week, and moved most of his stuff in on Sunday.
Then he went to work on Monday and they fucking fired him.
Now, that could be just bad luck if he didn't work for a small company of <20 people, who knew that he was relocating and attempting this specifically for this job. They let him get ALL the way past signing and setting everything up and let him go the VERY NEXT FUCKING DAY. If I ever meet the prick responsible for that, I'm seriously gonna cave his goddamn face in until he's puking up his own testicles.
NO ONE deserves to be shit on like that, let alone my fucking dad. He's a super nice guy, but he gets dealt shitty cards all the time, but if you were going to fire him, you should have done it two weeks ago, because there's NO FUCKING WAY that was cooincidental timing.
He's gonna try and find a way to keep the house, because he really likes it, but now, because of where he lives, he'll probably have to commute AWAY, because he's out of the main city.
So unbelievably fucking angry. Words just cannot explain how much fucking rage I feel about this. (Just found out from him late last night).

Well, it was only the Cold War that got mankind to the moon when we did. It would have been possible to get man on Mars in the Eighties, if they'd only evolved Apollo tech (instead of putting someone on the moon half a dozen times, and then getting bored).
