Tifa's childhood friends

During the Highwind scene with Cloud, Tifa says that she's all alone and doesn't have anybody waiting for her. What about all her childhood friends who moved to Midgar? Why didn't she reconnect with them when she moved there?

Edit (I was too gangsta to check the forum) - this answer is based on Rebirth and Traces of Two Paths. In OG I think we can assume that, either way, she really just wanted to stay with Cloud.

Tifa wondered about them when she got to Midgar, but they never really reconnected. Emilio came into Seventh Heaven once with his girlfriend. I don’t think she ever saw the other two again. They all just moved on, the way kids usually do when they grow up.
