From working at first line with computer networks I can tell you right away they should have sent you guys a new router the moment you explained about the water leak. This is piss poor customer service from their end.

If the ISP provide the equipment, then they need to send new equipment the same day they learn the router they have have been damaged with water, no matter whose fault it is. So technically, it is their fault. You can't claim force majeure on a water leak of your customer pays you for renting the equipment.

Yeah so, we're not getting this sorted. Chess telecom are liars and frauds, worst company I have ever had to deal with. Took a week and a half for them to even understand the problem and then they've just kept fobbing us off over and over. So yeah. I've set it up to get internets via my phone but that won't come into effect until the 15th.

Well, we're thinking of moving soon, so we don't want to get into another contract with another company. Plus they'd (new company) probably have to send an engineer out anyway, and then they'd have to get the codes off Chess which will be like getting blood out of a stone. Either way it wont be straightforward. So yeah, its something the landlord can sort out when we leave (its partially the LLs fault, and they're the ones who gave the contract to Chess for the entire building).

Even for your current ISP being shitty with customer service, they might be a lot more effective towards other ISP's and companies, as the cs and the delivery dept usually are two completely different departments. I'd take my chances and order a new ISP - they wouldn't have to send out a new engineer/tech, only a new router, as all you really have to do is plug int into the wall. The switch work itself is done inhouse.

You guys haven't even bought a new place yet, am I right? idk this is personal preference, but I wouldn't have my Internet connection be another thing hanging on the shoulders that is Get A New Home.
