Warcraft movie

So, there was a teaser shown at Blizzcon already (not poasted online), and today they released some early renders; supposedly it looks great in motion too, some people say it's a new generation in CGI quality and shit. We'll see.

IDK, I like the Warcraft storyline and the cutscenes; WoW just kinda whored out the whole franchise though, I think they peaked (also in terms of storyline) at WotLK, which IIRC also concluded the storyline set out in Warcraft 3; after that the game kinda died down, they bolted on some random bits of storyline. I think. I never really played it all that much though, I know nothing.

Wow. When they said at Blizzcon that the orcs look more real than the actual humans I didn't think it was pretty close to literal lol.

Looks good and I love that this movie is a Warcraft movie proper instead of a WoW movie and will take place right at the beginning of the fun on Azeroth.

I'm pretty sure the movie will be a fully standalone movie (with some hints to the games off course), so no need for that. If you ever find it / have an okayish PC, you should play a bit of Warcraft 3 though - if only for the cutscenes and the silliness, :monster:.

Oh, and Hearthstone is quite accessible / fun too if you're more into casual / mobile games.

I'm not going to give WoW another chance myself; the game is dead until you get to max level, and both before and after that it's a grindfest and I don't see the fun in the traditional styled MMO anymoar.

I played Warcraft I and II. Loved the silliness of that, so....Hmmm!

I am looking for another game to play, so I'll consider Warcraft III. Thanks for suggesting it!

The story is honestly pretty bad ass. It gets a little fucky with the WoD expansion due to time travel and the changes but at least the stuff that happens in WoD only affects the timeline for a secondary timeline and not the main one the game is in lol.

I highly suggest watching this to catch up on the Warcraft story briefly covering major plot points from WC1 into WoW.

@Yop, a standalone story? I could have sworn it was going to be based around the first Horde and their war with the alliance?

edit:

Also the captions on that video are hilarious. What ever youtube uses to make them cant handle the combo of his accent and the odd names of characters lol.

Yeah I'd also heard it was the human-orc conflict arc

Similar to Yop, I lost interest in the Warcraft story after the end of Frozen Throne. They definitely fit the continuation of the story to WoW, but because of that it feels haphazard and unfocused.

Also, Arthas is cool but he's simply no Kerrigan. Not by a mile. :monster:

I meant that since it's a prequel, you wouldn't need to know anything about the rest of the Warcraft storyline. It can get kinda convoluted with good guys gone bad, undead invasions, random dragons and pandas, that kinda thing, :monster:.

Also if this movie rocks, I'm sure they'll do a Starcraft movie too - I hope so, anyway. Although I didn't like Starcraft 2 that much, :awesome:. Speaking of, still need to get the expansions if/when they're on sale.

I'm inclined to believe someone overdid it a bit with the photoshoop.

I did hear there's going to be a trailer today. Will it be a proper one or one of those 'teaser trailer' shit? Or a trailer for a trailer?

It, and the movie, are going to be horrid, I just know it :monster:.

(I'll play WoW for a month if I'm proven wrong though)

I've got a level 60ish character from a few years ago and I paid for it, does that count? :awesome:

It looks kinda... grimdark, IDK. I may need to adjust my expectations though. The games' color scheme has always been rather bright (orcs being bright green wearing red, hoomans being blonde vikings with blue armor, that kinda shit). Plus they're still early stills (hue), it is known they can change the color scheme shortly before release (see Failtastic 4).
