Ways the game could be improved

FF7 made it obvious that Sephiroth was the one in control. When Jenova died Sephiroth didn't give a shit, her fall had no effect on him at all. She was just his tool for achieving his ultimate goal.

It's right there in the game. You don't ever see Jenova speaking for Sephiroth, or making plans, or anything.

Really? I'd say it's the opposite way around in my opinion, Jenova is a alien being and is known for being extremely manipulative and highly intelligent, if she was scheming I'm sure she'd keep it to herself and use other people as tools to do her bidding.

I always got the idea that she manipulated Sephiroth into doing her bidding. Sephiroth does carry out all her goals after all.

The only thing she says in the entire games is "You are just a puppet." To Cloud. That being her only line I got the feeling that she was the one being a lot of the things happening.

And Kadaj screamed because what was left of Jenova had been mauled even further thanks to Rufus. What was inside that canister was hardly the mother he was longing for.

Thanks, maybe we could team up and beat him! That would be awesome on the off chance we would. lol. I'm confident Sephiroth is the one being manipulated, it's rather absurd to think a highly intelligent manipulative alien being would let itself be used as a tool.

Sephiroth is one of my favourite characters in FF7 but I am willing to admit that he was manipulated by Jenova, maybe you are not. Just because you don't like my opinions doesn't mean there isn't any logic or truth in them nor does it give you the right to deem them incorrect, no offence ^^.

Jenova helped push him over the edge, but FF7, the Ultimanias, and the creators have made it clear that he did everything for himself.

HE wanted to be a god, not Jenova. Jenova was nothing more than a pawn in his plan. It doesn't matter what your opinion is, this is a fact. Sephiroth did what he did for himself, and no one else.

Still it doesn't seem very realistic to me. I already knew Sephiroth was the one in charge of the clones but the only way I'd believe a mortal Sephiroth is manipulating a 1000 year old alien is if square released the information in the US/UK. It just doesn't seem logical to me at all.

One minor note is that Sephiroth wasn't what I would call mortal in FFVII. He was technically dead the whole time during FFVII. He was part of the Lifestream, yet also maintaining his consciousness and willpower. That's how he was able to utilize the Lifestream to summon Meteor. Given what he's overcome, I concede that it's not much of a stretch to believe he could supplant Jenova as well. And then there's the official stuff what Masamune graciously provided.

Ok, I knew he is dead because I already made a post explaining it, but it says in his character profile that his body disintegrated into the mako reacter then travelled through the lifestream and fused together over the course of 5 years at the northern crater and it was revived by the black materia. I always thought of him as "alive" after that point in the game personally but in the end it doesn't really matter.

I also know he is above mortal status I was just trying to prove that It doesnt make any sense how he can manipulate a 1000 year old alien which square states has high intelligence, Hell she even took out most of the cetra, they were a superior race, they could even space travel. (It was implied that they could).

Bah and It annoyed me that square made all these silly updates in 2006, 9 years after the original game was made, it seems odd. Can you explain it more clearly to me please?

Aye, but the difference is that her intelligence was evolved for a singular purpose: to murder and destroy. Intelligence to that end is a prerequisite. Some of the top predators in our world are also highly intelligent, after all. However, it doesn't necessarily mean that she was able to compete with Sephy in terms of intelligence or--more accurately--willpower. The Ultimania says that she wasn't able to.

Don't get me wrong, I give props to Jenova for being one nasty bitch, and I generally love evil bitches in video games. However, I won't argue with facts.

It's also a misconception that the Cetra are extraterresrial. From the ffwiki article:

Many fans incorrectly believe that the Cetra are actually an alien race which migrates from Planet to Planet. This is due to translation issues and a failure to clarify the interchangability between "land" and "planet." In actuality, the game's script states through Aerith that the Cetra were born on the Planet of Final Fantasy VII, and that -- upon death -- they will return to the Promised Land.

The only alien in the game was Jenova.

Only 'cos their minds are young and 'incomplete.' Their notion of Jenova is clouded, the same way Sephiroth's was at Nibelheim.

Although I am rather curious what Sephiroth's "shining future" entails, but that's another tangent.
