What am I seeing here?

Last night, I may have stumbled upon something worth noting. I'm not sure if what I'm seeing is accurate or not. Therefore, I'm asking for other opinions on this one. I found a close up of the Sephiroth render here:

Nothing out of the ordinary until I looked closer:

Notice the slender line of shimmer at the bottom of his eyeballs? You be the judge. I think it's one thing, but I could be wrong. Enlighten me. I go into more detail about this and other interesting tidbits I noticed here.

I'm reasonably confident it's just a reflective shimmer. Cast along with that sadistic smirk, tears wouldn't lend themselves to anything other than possibly "I finally get to torture Cloud."
