Yes, I am sure you can diagnose that from thousands of miles away.
Please don't be stupid.
And implying an entire console generation, that had 0 factory recalls for known issues, was somehow universally faulty isnt stupid?
Its always the customers first assumption to blame the company then to use common sense and just do basic preventative measures to ensure there electronics have a normal or extended life time. You do the opposite and leave it alone and you can decrease its life time.
Now if you were talking about the 360 with its RRoD issues that it had for about 3 years. Then yeah I could be on your side with this, but when it comes to the PS3 its just not the case. You should have taken better care of it.
edit:
Im to tired to flesh this post out, I can later when im not so out of whack if you want though.
But ive worked the customer support side of tech before , ive worked warranties and all the stats for the PS3 are freely available on the internet.
Did it fail? Yes, what console doesn't (quite possibly the wii
)
But read all the stat reports, almost universally the issues are due to either over heating due to poor customer care/conditions. Or disgustingly enough pest infestation destroying the mobo.
The only PS3 variant (which I recall you saying you didnt own) that did have issues was the backwards compatible PS2 playing version. The rest did not fall to its same faults.
Say what you want, but without a mass recall for your unit/console to back you up (i.e. the 360) the statistics are against you and its not stupid to fairly assume that you are just another statistic who poorly maintained there electronics.
