What does Mako (the admin) smell like?

Throughout the game the stench of Mako is referenced repeatedly. I tthink Cloud and a few civilians point it out during flashbacks or on your travels through areas of Midgar iirc. I doubt its a very potent smell, but evidence doesn't point towards it being an overtly pleasant smell either.
