what is the best way to play the original game with built in graphics on pc?

my pc has some problem with its graphics card. So im using the built in graphics. But they dont support opengl. I tried emulating with ePSXe but the overworld sections were just black. i could access the menus and get into the first battle though. Should i try the steam version?

The original ff7 from 1997 for pc had 4 cds and was for windows 95. As i can remember there were ultima edition and remastered version, which i cant find anymore actually on net. Only the steam version, which should work on nowadays pcs. The square enix store themself has the original version in steam.
Nintendo switch has ff7 plus ff8 hd remasters and android has the ff games.
