Wheel of Time is gonna be a series

OMG! I never thought that this would EVER happen!

Wheel Of Time is like one of my favourite novels ever - despite some it's issues. A TV series could be really interesting.

It could also turn out to be very lame / bad, so I won't hold my breath. Didn't manage to get through the books, there's only so many cycles of campfires and inns I can manage.

Be optimistic! :P

You really should. It's certainly a classic of the genre, and there's enough scope between the main characters to find someone to love and become attached to.

I know it is, and I've read bunches of fantasy both good and terrible so :monster:. Maybe I'm confusing it too much with Eragon, which was the cringiest and the movie was worse.

Or just one before it's cancelled. IDK, they'll probably have to struggle to get money for each next season and it'll end abruptly. I just know it.

It's pretty light on magic until several books in, and even then, it's not really in your face all the time, just in small doses. It's mostly the sets and the Trollocks. Compared to a lot of other adaptations, the budget for this could actually be pretty manageable.

So, just saw another article on this and remembered that we had an old thread about it:

Also, a comment on that last article had me looking up a bunch of Robert Jordan's comments on Vietnam, and jeeze damn man. That's some intense stuff. https://www.theoryland.com/intvsresults.php?kwt='vietnam'

All-in-all though, things are looking good for this and I'm quite looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Well, as long as the overall plot moves faster than the glacial speed of the books, it sounds good. I never finished the series because of how slow the overarching story seemed to move sometimes. Barely even at all in some books, if I remember right.

Yeah, I remember his descriptions just went on and on and on... like a few sentences should be enough to set the scene, not three whole pages just to describe the surroundings.

I forgot this was a thing. Really loving the casting! My boy Perrin is cute as hell.

I disagree about the descriptive nature of his writing. That was one of the better aspects for me. Though I will agree that the books moved at a snail's pace. No doubt about that.
