Where's Reno's mullet?

Is it my imagination, or does Reno not have his smexi 1970s footballer's mullet in BC? Reno without a mullet is like Tseng without his dot or Rude without his sunglasses. Woe!

If he doesn't have it, he doesn't have it. This is in the past. It makes sense his appearance would change all through the years of his life.

Yeah. Anyway, as Seto said, they wanted to portray the character younger, hence the lack of longer hair. Changes in appearance are very common to show a younger character, Tseng's hair, for instance, is shorter in CC.

Anyway he just didn't have it back then. He doesn't have it in Crisis Core, either.

Why did you only notice Reno? Tseng, Elena and Rufus' hair are all different and Rude is without his goatee. Sadly, the artwork did not change to stay in line with the events of CC, LO and FF7. There is a 3 year gap between ep17 and 18 and I think they could have used this time to switch images for the cast that it applied to. I know there exists BC character images for Tseng, Rufus and Elena that were updated.

You're right! No ponytail in Crisis Core! Well, I'm glad he grew one. Of course I noticed Tseng and the others, but Rude's goatee isn't as iconic as his glasses and studs and Tseng still has the same basic look, though his face seems longer in BC than in CC or ACC, come to that.

Tseng can't seem to make up his mind. In Crisis Core (and BC?) his hair is shorter and in a ponytail, in CC's ending and FF7 his hair is long and down, and then in AC its shorter and ponytailed again.

And about Tseng...does his little FF7 sprite have the forehead dot on it? How come we all know that dot as Tseng's distinguishing feature? I feel like that came about before AC, but I can't remember his FF7 sprite showing it.

But, I never thought Reno had a mullet in the first place? Maybe I'm just blind or unobservant (probably both, knowing me), but I never thought he had one. And if he did, I don't think it's surprising, considering how long BC was before FFVII. I bet in six years my hair will look different, too.

Rude: Reno said he wanted to see you after the injuries you gave him healed. He wants to show his affection for you all…with a new weapon.

As far as i recall, there is no mention of a new weapon after this. So...what's he talking about?

I believe the old school hairstyle terminology you're looking for is "rat tail," not "mullet."

And good question about Tseng's dot thing. I don't recall his sprite having one, but it was in the FF7 Turks artwork. Of course, I think you had to go online to even find that image, since it wasn't in the strategy guide or anything.

It was.

Reno didn't grow his ponytail out until after Nibelheim. He's got it in the CC ending FMV.

I can't believe this thread has come back to life ... but since it has, can we all agree that ACC Reno has THE greatest hair of anyone in the Compilation?
