FUUU I really want to vote for Kain, Rosa, Cecil, AND Edward but in the end I must go with Kain. I absolutely adore him more than I can explain, really. ;w; The poor awesome guy.

PLUS TEACHING HIM 'CRY' IS THE BEST THING EVER

I want to vote for Kain, Edge, and Rydia, but I can only choose one! So I chose Kain.

Rydia. She's so brave tough strong and she has so much courage even when she's a little young girl and just lost her mum, she's so brave and she tries her hardest not to let her sadness get in the way of everything. I do dislike the bit when she tells Edward to shut up though. The poor spoony bard has just lost his girlfriend, friends and family and everybody else has been slaughted by arrows and she tells Edward to shut the fuck up and be a adult. I'm sorry but that's not right, there's nothing wrong with letting the poor man grieve for a while, he's just been through a horrible event.

Edward Kain and Rosa come second place. I'm also starting to love Ceodore too from the After Years and it's only 15 mins into the game. He seems so tough and determined and he really wants to be independent.

I know alot of people find Edward whiny, annoying and pathetic but there's nothing wrong with a man being weak over loosing somebody so dear to him. Because it shows how much he cared about her and treasured her while she was alive.

But yeah Rydia, minus the whole shut the fuck up to poor Spoony Bard bit. Cecil should of slapped her instead. Actually I hate Cecil for slapping Edward too. >:
Give the man a chance to cry and let his emotions out, he just lost alot of people. >:
I love Edward, haters gonna hate. But Rydia still gets the vote and even though she annoys me during that bit, I like her for it as well, because it makes her human and sometimes you don't like everything that people do or say. It makes her really developed for a game that came out quite a while ago. It's good that she has flaws and she's not a perfect Mary Sue.

But... damn. Poor Edward. >: And poor Kain as well. >:

Uhh I believe slapping Rydia at that point (especially after he killed her Mother lol) would be child abuse... :awesome: Not to mention, Edward needed to be slapped. He was irrational at that point and there was a bigger matter at hand. I believe he got his time to grieve but they didn't really *have* the time for it, y'know? ;w; It was one of those 'wake up' call sort of things so that he didn't lose his senses.

But yeah I agree that Edward gets too much hate, I love him. <3

The reason people hate Edward has nothing to do with the plot.

It has everything to do with HIDING.

And don't hate on Cecil for trying to snap Gilbart out of his funk and act like someone of his stature ought to.
Anna told him basically the same thing.

So ? He's a bit of a wussy xD He gets braver by the end and in After Years he's extremely braver and happier. It gives him character and development and he grows as and gets stronger as the story goes along. c: It sucks that Edward haters don't realize that he improves and gets better as the FFIV develops.

Nobody should hurt poor Gilbert/ Edward. ):

Okay he needed a wake up call, but it still hurt him. :'(

I love a lot of the characters in this game but I guess my fav to be Cecil Harvey. Hate the last name btw...

I just find Cecil embodies what a leader should be--strong, brave, kind and fearless. He is such a good person at heart that his self-doubts makes him endearing.

Kain. Kain Highwind. Although I loved most of the cast, he just stuck out to me as the most real and relatable. This was actually a lot easier than the other FF character threads.

Although everyone kicked ass, I just have this infinite love for Kain and what he goes through in the game, it doesn't even compare. His unrequited love is so sad and what he does to Rosa because of Golbez gave him so much character depth. Not to mention, his relationship with Cecil.

Second would be a tie between Rydia and Rosa followed by Edge and Cecil. :)

That doesn't change the fact that for the time you have him in the original US version of the game, he auto-hides at low HP and becomes effectively useless, making it night impossible to use him for healing, damage, or anything else. They have improved him in subsequent releases, but the damage was done 20 years back.

Nobody should hurt poor Gilbert/ Edward. ):

He needed to be hurt to grow as a character.

My favourite is the one that bravely sacrificed their life in the name of all that is good in the world.

Wait, that's about half of them.

There are a lot of great characters in this game. But in the end, I voted for Rydia for reasons that have already been stated.

Let's not forget that Rydia didn't have time to grieve about losing her mother and her village either. I guess it just got on Rydia's nerve since she went through the same thing as he did. And since he was an adult, she expected more from him. Besides, the man sounded like he was ready to off himself at a crucial moment. On top of that, Damcyan was already in a state of ruin, and it needed a king more than ever. Not saying that Edward wasn't allowed to grieve, but if Rydia and Cecil hadn't been there, whose to say what would have happened if they didn't bring him back to his senses?

bleh, I could be wrong, but this just my opinion. :D

EDIT: Where's Golbez?

omg the character I love is in first place! This never happens to me ;.;

I loved Edge. His chat-ups were such failures, and he was the worst ninja ever - I don't think he ever managed to steal a single thing in my game. But he never let that heaping pile of fail depress his spirits.

As previously stated, I do like FFIV but it never resonated with me quite as well as it seemed to with everyone else. But I think I'll go with Cecil.

Okay, serious post now. I voted for Cecil. I love his trials and subsequent transformation. It's fun playing with a Lv1 character afterwards. And his relationship with Golbez is one of the best protagonist-antagonist dynamics in the whole series.

I think that all of the characters in this game were pretty well rounded and likeable, so I'm voting for Kain because of his voice. Also he's half of the greatest Dissidia ship ever created.

You know, I already voted Kain (Dissidia irreperably damaged Cecil's character for me, who was my favorite fictional character many years), but now that I have gotten into FFIV:TCC, I'm tempted to say Palom is my favorite character now. It helps that Porom's Tale was entirely about his character development in addition to Palom's Tale.
