So yeah.. seems like simply a different version of the wii. A lil gimmick that seems cool at first but then no one likes actually playing something with it.

ToucheExcept nintendo seemed to have the gimmick of the wii as its only sales pitch aside from its decades old ips.
Also I have to say it right now before I explode
The Wii U is the stupidest name for a console since, well

Nintendo's share price has hit its lowest value in five years following the unveiling of the Wii U device.
That's according to Bloomberg, which noted a 7.5 per cent drop in the price to ¥16,610 (around £125). More than 1.67 million shares changed hands yesterday, compared to the daily average of 724,000.
"There were high expectations from the new version of the Wii and this fell far short," said analyst Yusuke Tsunoda.
"People had expected to see something more at a big event like the E3, but there wasn't really anything more than what's already reported."
Sounds like the Wii U is continuing the proud tradition started by its predecessor.A lil gimmick that seems cool at first but then no one likes actually playing something with it.
The screen on the control thing is an interesting idea. It would make it the most customisable control in existence. In that respect, I think its good. But its HUGE. I prefer the controls that fit to your hand.
Wii U sounds like you're making siren sound effects.
This morning, Nintendo showed off a highlight reel of third-party games supposedly running on its new Wii U console. They looked great. Turns out that footage wasn't running on anything of the sort.
Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has told GameTrailers that the footage—of games like Ghost Recon and Darksiders II—was instead culled from the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the games.
"We are extremely thrilled about the potential of the Nintendo Wii U and are honored to be a part of the earliest efforts for research and development on the platform with the Aliens: Colonial Marines project that is so perfectly matched with the platform's unique and exciting new capabilities," said Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox Software. "As more details about the Nintendo Wii U emerge, Gearbox Software is equipped and motivated to engage and support the platform and its customers."
According to Smash Bros. designer Masahiro Sakurai, "Honestly, at this point, we shouldn't be announcing these games to the general public, but since we need to assemble developers for the games, we made them public."
Sakurai added that work on the games has not started, and their future is dependent on the ability of those recruited to work on the titles.
