Once upon a time in the TLS Region, a group of trainers decided to form their own Regional Pokemon League. Unfortunately, they shared a number of limitations with the Unova Region and interest began to wane. Then one day the self-proclaimed Master of the Dark-type tried to get things going again. This is his attempt...
Ok yeah, being more serious now. I have once again edited my OP here so that info is up to date in the very first post of the thread. Further changes will be made to keep us up to date as the membership changes and/or other decisions are made.
We are looking to sign up a max of 12 folks from our fair community to participate in our very own Pokemon League via Wi-Fi battles, as was once suggested in the Most Important Topic thread. Anyone who wishes to sign up should get in touch with me, since I seem to be the organizer for the League at this point. You're also welcome/encouraged to post a reply in this thread giving your type-specialty/theme preference and friend code. Friend Codes can also be sent to me via PM and I will add it along with your other info to our list. But, that'd be sorta pointless since if you're going to be in the league, that means accepting challenges which means your FC goes public anyway
We were in the midst of a tournament to decide rank among the League in order to decide who is a Gym Leader and who is Elite Four a while back. That... sorta went south due to real life issues hitting our membership from multiple sides. Said tournament still needs to be completed to sort out the members we have signed up already. Tourney rules specify that Pokemon must be level 50 or higher, no doubles or doubled items allowed, no uber-level mons. Teams must be built around a theme of some sort. Most commonly this would be a type specialty as seen among the Gym Leaders and Elites in the games. These teams could include up to two Pokemon not of that type, provided they know a move of that type to fit their theme. Other suggested themes included all rodent mons, an all Eeveelution team, teams built around Baton Pass or weather control moves or abilities, etc.
During the initial discussion of this idea there were questions posed about limits on teams. We did decide that nicknames for Pokemon are fine, with a prohibition against naming them after other Pokemon in order to be tricky (such as, for instance, giving a Charizard the name Onix in order to lure out Grass-types). We also discussed members potentially having/using more than six Pokemon: Like in the games, every Gym Leader or Elite Four member should have a clearly defined team that is used on any trainer's first challenge against them. For rematches however, shaking up the team membership would be fine so long as they still fit the theme (for instance, I would use a combination of the mons in my current sig the first time I fought anybody, but might sub in my Weaville or Houndoom the second time).
Battle rules are different and rather lame in this generation, rather than raising levels to 100 the Flat option instead drops them to 50, or leaves them as is if they are under 50 to begin with. There are also limits on the number of mons you can bring to the fight in Flat Battles, Single Battles only allow Three Pokemon, while Double/Rotation allow Four, and Triples allow for the full Six. These rules are less than ideal, and I thusly offered to remove those who have signed up from my lists. No one took that option, so at present we have the following confirmed members:
Gym Leader Devil - Dark-Type
Gym Leader Kris - Ice-Type
Omega - Steel-Type
Feferi - Dragon-Type
Tiff aka "That Chick What Changes Her Name Too Much" - Bug-Type
Clicky Person - Grass-type
DrakeClawfang - Flying-type
All types not on the above list are open to be claimed, as are the team builds not entirely oriented on type. If you are considering joining the elite trainers of TLS in this venture, choose a theme quick before someone else grabs it!
So, that about brings us up to date for now. Details about the tournament's continuation/partial do-over will be added as decisions are made.
