Amesoeurs - Ruines Humaines is to good and fairly depressing to not be on this list lol.
Im just not 100% confident it can be considered an album since it was just an EP. Still a really beautiful album though and very well constructed.



Alcest - Souvenirs d'un autre monde . More work by Neige and even though the album wasnt intended to be depressing it really really is. IIRC he intended it to be uplifting and for it not to come off as so dark. The follow ups certainly fix this issue though.

Can't actually think of anything else, despite (or perhaps because of) being such a miserable shithead most of the stuff I like is quite upbeat.

Also, I'd just like to add that I think Coldplay are just fucking boring, they could probably drive someone to suicide because they are that boring (and inexplicably successful) In terms of music/lyrical content they're just a yawnfest.

The soundtrack to Mother 3. That game has some of the most heartrending music I've ever heard.
I'd list more but with any song I have in mind that's awesome but depressing I'm not sure if the rest of the album is like that too.
