Gotta catch 'em all. :monster:

Okay, this the Official TLS Pokemon thread. While this thread will apply to all aspects of Pokemon (cards, games, anime, merchandise, etc) I'm sticking it in the Gaming section since it did start out as a game originally.

Talk about anything. The old games vs the new games, remakes vs the originals. But let's start where it all began.

How'd you first get into Pokemon? Personally, I think I was about as early as 6 or 7 that I have memories of running around the school trading Pokemon cards with others with only the first set of cards. I remember going to my aunt's house afterschool and watching Pokemon on TV. I never got around to getting an actual Pokemon game until Crystal came out, cause we were po' folk. >; But for some reason the cards along sustained my thirst for Pokemon. :duhard:

So uhh... How'd you get into it? :monster:

I played the originals (Red, mainly) for the first time on a cousin's GBC, I think, and played it for quite a while on a PC emulator, almost obsessively, even. Nobody had the cash required to buy GBC's and the game and whatnot, so it was never really a rage at school as far as I can remember.

But then I got really sick (in the literal sense) and suspected a relationship with the obsessive gaming of said game, and haven't been able to enjoy it since.

I did play some of the sequels, but none of them had the same feeling as the original - even though they were all pretty much carbon-copies of the original, ffs.

Let's see. Many, many moons ago I used to watch the TV programs of Pokemon which was fine for a while and also played the red version. But just like the program I got bored and grew out of the fad.

Oh man, Pokemon Blue was one of the first, if not the first, games I ever played; I think my parents got me it and a GBC as a birthday present or something. I remember when I first played it I didn't even know how to save the game at first, haha.

Pokemon was a big fad at my school when I was in third/fourth grade, so I had the games, cards, toys, and I watched the TV show.

It doesn't have much replay value. It was fun when it first came out. Now, not so much.

My first experience came by accident after DBZ. Then I saw the first movie and wanted to catch Mewtwo. Hence Red and Blue. I gotted my palsma rifle and blew up everyone's wall to get 150. Sadly I could never attain the unattainable Mew and I refuse cheats. I was 7-8 when I completed my Pokeman games.

I was introduced to the concept of n00b pokeman through Donphan and Snubul, thinking they're legendaries until Gen 2 came. I waited and continued to gotted my palsma rifle and catch them all in the new gen. The Wild Cards of my keeping as of Gold version are:

Mewtwo - 100
Lugia - 98
Snorlax 100
Charizard - 98
Venusaur - 98
Blastoise - 98

Though I never got the Heracross I wanted :monster:

After that, I gracefully retired from Pokemans. My last match was with my childhood friend who had pokemans of equal level. I won and retired after that, giving my Gold version to a youngin', hoping he'd collect all 250 minus Celebi.

I lost interest when Ruby came. Hated generation 3 +, 250 Pokemans is enough for me.

I'm going to be honest, I have no idea where I'm actually heading to in Diamond.

I wouldn't say it doesn't have replay value. I just wish I had a blue/red so that I could try that Mew or Missingno glitch. D;

I remember playing the GBA one. That's about it. I watched the cartoon though when I was little.
