Had to pause and make sure I got the twist with Black Beetle right. Crazy stuff. I also liked the synergy between the group, and the revised design for Apache Chief actually makes sense now (astral projections instead of just increasing in size).

This episode also made me nostalgia hard for the Static Shock cartoon. Even though I didn't really watch that show except for the Batman and Justice League crossovers.

Tye's power design actually kinda reminds me of the Armor character from the X-Men.

Considering Weisman though, I would not be surprised if it is later revealed that Green Beetle is triple agent and put Jaime on the mode in order to infiltrate the Reach.

Oh DAMN. Things went a little more roughly than I'd anticipated. The Reach's ultimate goal is clear, and Blue is officially revealed as being on the Mode. …but what the hell is Vandal Savage playing at by sending Mongol and the War World to Earth? Did he anticipate that they'd be able to overcome it with such limited resources?

The ending for this episode (actually the episode as a whole) really reminded me of Season 1's Homefront (Episode 12) which was written by Jon Weisman (he wrote this episode as well). Team battles an extremely strong opponent(s) wins but at the very end is taken out by a surprise enemy from their ranks of allies. Very enjoyable episode all around and definitely seems like the beginnings of the endgame operations of the season (as future trailers have shown War World is sticking around for more episodes).
Maybe this episode ending fallout will set up the plot point of episode 17 The Hunt?
This the logline for it:
A band of misfits is put to the test when Lex Luthor sends them behind enemy lines… to rescue the team
So perhaps the runaways will be responsible for getting them off War World? (if the League can't?)

The kiss between Wonder Girl and Arsenal was probably an homage to comic Arsenal's relationship with a different Wonder Girl (Donna Troy).
Also totally called it on Guardian's and Bumblebee's relationship problems simply being one of overdedication to work/career and high school nostalgia and not cheating (which half of tumblr other forums was so sure of).

Seemed kind of silly that
the Blue Scarab exposed himself publicly at the end.

Ep 17, The Hunt

-Since Black Beetle's always been such a 'roadblock/you shall not advance' character this season, it was a treat watching Arsenal sic Mongul on him.

-Again, nice seeing Static fight seriously in a show.

-Was also fun seeing Godfrey call the Reach guy on stuff. Major Comic spoilers:
I guess Apokalyps doesn't like that they're taking over the planet. I still expect a Darkseid cliffhanger next episode, never to be resolved.

Great La'gaan is back, I'm so very excited for his return and I can't even make that sound genuine. The unnecessary amount of screen time he has gotten could've been better served on some of the more interesting, likable characters like Batgirl, Wally, Wonder Girl or Robin.

I really loved this episode, it was great seeing the team work in awesome synchronization with each other. And it was cool to see that the Team had been formulating their own plans in secret for a while as well.

I think its a running gag that any show that Greg Weisman works on will be canceled after its second season.I mean every show he's worked on the network cancels it for some inane reason.

Basically that. I love episodes were you see more of the team work together.

If nothing else, at least we got to send him off friendzoned.

Thank god, it was nauseating and annoying watching them make out all the time.

Great episode, the Team was able to completely cripple The Reach's public persona as well as capture The Ambassador, The Brain, and Black Manta (which is 2/7 of The Light) while also safely returning Kaldur and Artemis to safety. Only thing left for the final episode to address is confront Black Beetle's last ditch total destruction attempt and presumably Vandal's and Klarion's control of the Warworld. Kaldur's fight with Black Manta was awesome as well and it was cool seeing that he had some personal conflict due to Black Manta being a noble villain.

This show really needs a nice box set.

Then renewed down the line like Justice League Unlimited. It's held my interest more than any DC show, and there have been some good ones.

If this show doesn't magically get renewed after next week's episode, I really don't know what CN is wanting.

EDIT: I mean really, this show has teenagers (whose characters are fleshed out), keeps older fans pleased with Justice League characters, an unlimited source of comic book history, and interweaving plots (something the Bruce Timm shows also did, but it wasn't one of their strengths.)

So it looks like the finale Endgame episode will have a lot of characters appearing in it (including Virgil/Static) based on these old DC Nation promo screen caps of scenes that still have not been shown yet.

Because some of them are idiots who are secretly trying to get live actions shows on Cartoon Network but then again tv executives tend to be dumb in their decisions.

Also in regards to GTLAS which is part of DC Nation and also not getting renewed according to Bruce Timm both shows had poor merchandising which contributed as well to CN not renewing either.

Yeah, CN uses the excuse of merchandising to kill shows.

They did the same thing with Sym-Bionic Titan, and Genndy Tartakovsky gave a little more insight into what actually happened. I feel that this is a pretty strong representation of how CN treats all of its shows right now. Minor spoilers for that show: http://www.wired.com/underwire/2012/10/hotel-transylvania-genndy-tartakovsky/2/

And let's be honest, if they marketed those shows even a QUARTER as much as they do for Adventure Time or Regular Show, they'd absolutely be killing it. They don't push for the shows at all, and cancel and restart them without warning, which kills people's ability to easily follow them. Happened to Titan, too.
