This Might Be The Closest We’re Getting To A Final Fantasy VII Remake (via Kotaku)

Rendered with the Unreal Development Kit, digital artist Laggyzaki’s remake of one of the most memorable locations in Final Fantasy VII—the Sector 5 church in Midgar—should make everyone nostalgic and wonder how the rest of the game would look in high definition.

It’s a pretty accurate replica of the original. All that’s missing is Aeris and her flowers.

Thanks to Shademp for spotting this incredible recreation and to Laggyzaki (DoomedLaggy on YouTube) for giving us permission to share it here.

Square Enix Undergoes Massive Restructuring (via Gamefront)

Hitman

Square Enix is undergoing a massive restructuring which sees leadership changes to all of its subsidiary studios, the company announced today. The changes come a few days after layoffs at IO Interactive, a subsidiary of Square Enix. The studio develops the Hitman series of games and is currently working on a next-gen title within the series.

According a statement issued by the publisher, Darrell Gallagher, former head of Crystal Dynamics, has been promoted to the head of studios for Square Enix’s North American and European operations. Gallagher will retain his role at Crystal Dynamics and will be working directly with other regional studios to further the company’s “ongoing portfolio strategy.” It is unclear whether Gallagher will retain his role for the long-term.

Final Fantasy 15: new character bios and art drops (via VG24/7)

Final Fantasy XV Cast

Final Fantasy 15 has received a batch of character biographies as well as some new artwork showing Noctis and pals looking tough and/or moody. You may remember a batch of Google-translated character bios that surfaced for Final Fantasy 15 last week? Well, these are the official English translations.

Noctis Lucis Caelum: A childhood affliction endowed Noctis, heir apparent to the throne of Lucis, with the mystical power to see a heavenly light, through which he could sense others’ deaths. Noctis rejects rigid royal conventions and acts as somewhat of a renegade, much to the dismay of those who tend to him. Yet while “Noct” may act brash at times, he does so in defense of those loyal to him.
