Also, some more info from the Dengeki PS3 interview has surfaced, and with it, some details pertaining to the particular story, “Case of Shinra” and Rufus and the Turks in ACC. Major thanks to hitoshura for providing this info.

– Nozue talks about how since it’s CG, they might as well do over-the-top things you can’t do in live action. There’s a lot of this in the new scenes, like the bike scene with Reno and Rude.

– (Nojima) Rufus is cool, and being a kind of ‘insider’ gets lots of dialogue.

– (Nojima) Case of Shinra involves the Turks, but Rufus gets a lot of attention as well. It covers what happened after Tseng was attacked by Sephiroth and nearly died, and what Rufus did after being saved from the WEAPON attack. Case of Shinra is the only chapter which begins during FFVII. This chapter is tied to BC and DC, so it was hard for Nojima to fully grasp the character’s actions and time lines. But it was interesting because it shows what’s going on inside Rufus’s mind.

Hm, Case of Shinra sounds pretty fascinating. Since Cloud refused to let him explain why he was still alive…lol

I’m liking how these novellas will have 264 pages combined. That’s a huge load. And Tifa and Denzel’s stories are being revised – and actually being a part of Cloud’s story in ACC. I really would like to see what the Lifestream is about.

Well Case of Lifestream is Sephiroth.

Hmm… Maybe this will give a greater hint as to what Rufus’s motivations will be after DC, since we learn of his mindset before that time. Sounds like a very good move to start right after Tseng was injured; it is only right since the majority of fans thought he died.

I’m getting exhausted from all this excitement… There is so much new material!

This is HUGE. I can’t wait to see the full stories, and the expanded original ones. Since Case of ShinRa is tied to BC, it’ll be interesting to see if we find out what happened to the rest of the Turks.

*fangasms* Oh my Case of Shinra sounds so fascinating! I’m glad to hear that it will have a lot of Turk stuff in there. When I saw Rufus on the cover I was afraid that it would only be about him. But that’s awesome that it’s all of them. 🙂

I also can’t believe that this book will be so long. That’s a lot of info. I can’t wait to read it all! And I’m also finding myself getting more excited about the Sephiroth story now that CC has made me really like him as a character. And there’s a big part of me that wants to know what his thoughts on Cloud are (in a totally non-yaoi way, mind you!).

    264 pages… Wow!
I’m already sad for the translators here. Lots and lots of work for them.

And it’s good to know they will mention BC in the Case of Shinra, because until now, OTWTAS had only mentioned things that happened in the original game.

Because up until now, there was only the original game to mention.

I wish they’d translate this to English and release it here, too…But, at least there’s the awesome translators on thelifestream!
