Enough Expository Banter!

Now we fight like men! And ladies! And ladies who dress like men!

Gilgamesh was already confirmed for Dissidia 012, but images and information about him are now starting to trickle in. Famitsu recently featured the famous swordsman. See after the break for the scan and the translation.

Translation:

Info is slowly coming in on the Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy’s appearance for Final Fantasy V’s Gilgamesh. Jump has a brief look at the character in its coming issue.

The big feature for Gilgamesh is that his weapon will change each time you attack. This presumably means that you won’t know what weapon you’ll get. But you’re not alone, as Gilgamesh apparently doesn’t know himself!

The magazine also shows Gilgamesh’s Excalibur move and an event scene with fellow FFVer Bartz.

    Will Gilgamesh have any involvement in the main story? He wasn’t seen in that CGI fight scene unless you count his Bartz encounter. Also, didn’t Vaan have a run-in with him too?

    I’m hoping Gilgamesh gets a proper role in the story rather than being a bonus storyline/quest. I want an explination as to how he became a summon in the 13th cycle and a proper reunion with Bartz. I’m also hoping that the CG scene wasn’t just for the trailer but what with the amount of UMD space being clogged up already…

    He has got to yell “It’s morphin’ time!” when he goes into his ex-mode. It was bad enough Garland got deprived of knocking things down; preventing Gilgamesh from morphing will just be a waste!

      It’s possible that he wasn’t summoned at all, that he merely arrives by way of the Interdimensional Rift. Considering that’s the method he presumably uses to get to every other game he shows up in πŸ™‚

      And I too am hoping for some rendered scenes besides the opening and ending…

      Well if anyone is capable of completely defying the laws of canon, it’s Gilgamesh.

      I pray for more CGI FMVS!!! If I had to choose one sequence to be rendered it would be the end of the 12th cycle/beginning of the 13th. Granted that’d clock up to about 5 minutes and cost a bomb but I can dream! *prays for FMVs* I sure hope Sephiroth doesn’t spontaneously appear from above…

      You = Brilliant.

      Yeah, I could definitely do with less spontaneously descending Sephiroth e.e
