You know, if Cloud really had been an entirely artificial "Sephiroth Clone" hand crafted by Hojo from Mako, Jenova-bits, and some kid's memories, as we were briefly led to believe back in the day... I could see him using the whole Jenova shapeshifting thing to double penetrate Tifa. I mean... I don't think I would consciously choose to do it (can't say for sure unless the choice was actually laid before me as genuinely possible) but if I DID for some reason have two peni... penises... what is the correct plural of penis anyway? Anyway if I did have two and a shot with Tifa... well what the hell, try anything once right?

^ Nice to know it's not just me.

"Hey, you're not allowed to talk about that, but here's my response on what you said"
Or my favorite:
You're not allowed to discuss if the statement is Clerith or Cloti, but here's why it's Clerith.

OH.

OH!

FANFIC FODDER. YES, THANK YOU.

(SPOILER)
...with that in mind, he can totally take on Tifa, Aerith, and Yuffie at the same time. Except it would have been illegal during the AVALANCHE days for Yuffie...

You're welcome for my part in that, but remember it was Q's original idea for the whole two penis thing.

Yuffie, illegal? Who says man? Last I heard, she was 16 in FFVII right? That's the age of consent when I live, dunno about you. But, disregard that and think of the law on The Planet. Where in the Ultimania/Original Game/Sequels/Prequels does it specify an age of consent for sexual intercourse? Not to mention if there is one its likely quite different in Wutai than in directly Shinra controlled lands (I mean, this is morally reprehensible, 0 ethics Shinra we're talking, if not for some minor concerns for public opinion I doubt the company as defacto world government would really care) you know? The little materia hunter could easily be fair game.

And did anyone else consider her kind of a cock-tease for running around with her short-shorts unbuttoned all the damn time?

Oh, another thing with regards to your fanfic you mentioned: if Jenova cells allow him to grow extra penises and do more than one girl/a girl in more than one hole at once, what stops him from also forming vaginas and getting the rest of the party in on the freaky sci-fi crimes against all that is decent orgy? Not something I wanna see, but what the hell? Cloud did mow the yard in someone's mind at one time after all lol.

For real. Even psycho Harry/Hermione shippers have accepted canon, they just live on with their dissatisfaction. and that's the wank that every other wank trys to live up to. I honestly have never seen such stubborn en masse denial of canon ever before in my infinite lurkdome

So does anyone else think that because of all the mako and Jenova cells, Cloud has two penises?... I think he likes to do Tifa in the ass and vagina at the same time...
I assure you that somewhere, out there, there is porn of this. In fact, I think I remember reading about a hentai with this same basic concept.

Response to Mako

Mako wrote: Well isn't that persistently pessimistic of you. I love how you assume such bad faith in them! I don't think they're quite so inept, dude.
Like I said, you're free to be wrong about whatever you like, sugar tits.

Mako wrote: I'm getting sick of your mouth dude. I'm going to have to take care of it if you keep it up.

Bring it, Mary, and feel free to bring the rest of the Baby-sitters Club with you. I'll slap a bitch.

Mako wrote: BC is about intimate details of Shinra and the Turks.

FFVII is about Cloud and the intimate details of his life and friends.
Just sayin'. Reno is quite emotional in contrast to how he was originally presented.

Mako wrote: Yuffie wrote them.
Mystery solved!

Mako wrote: I'll defend what I think isn't assfucking ridiculous
Yet you defend CC everyday. I call bullshit.

Mako wrote: Only the first one. But yes, they were written by Xehanort's Heartless.
Alright, thanks for clarifying. That's what I figured.

Mako wrote: A subsequent explanation is likely to occur in regards to who wrote those reports. We should at least wait and see what their context in the story is before decrying them as ridiculous and stupid.
I really doubt it. I'd just go ahead and decry them as ridiculous and stupid, which they currently are.

Mako wrote: Wha? Where do you get that from? The program just clearly states "Start Fragmentation Program" and then something along the lines of "Upload complete."
Actually, it just says "start fragment program." I don't see "upload complete" anywhere on the screen.

Mako wrote: Why would he need to initialize it, or even bother with it, if he already uploaded his mind to the network in the first place? That's just so convoluted and redundant. If he backed his mind up in the Shinra Network..whats the point of just waiting and not letting it upload? If he didn't need it, he could delete it from the network.
Isn't that pretty much the same thing that I said?

I disagree.

Mako wrote: Are we sure about that? We don't know or see what all the instruments and panels on that Sister Ray is, or what they can do.
Perhaps we don't see what they can do, but we see what's there pretty clearly:

http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/4...ycontrols4.jpg
http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/222...ycontrols3.jpg

It looks to be nothing more than several monitors with a single keyboard between them. And there looks to be a few circular gauges, probably to indicate what's going on with the cannon.

I'm just not buying that Hojo did this on the cannon.

Mako wrote: Clearly it isn't just one huge ass cannon strapped to all the mako reactors in Midgar. Apparently the damn thing has internet fucking access to all the computers in Midgar ...
Oh, it has Internet access? Well, damn, that just tore this whole thing wide open! I mean, here I figured that they were operating its systems and communicating through it via cans on strings.

That's a pretty big claim to have only supported by a stupid fan fic that's not even referenced or looked at ever again by the creators.
It would be a claim if I were trying to argue that it's canon. As it is, I'm trying to argue that it's consistent with the canon titles. Which it is.

Dude, he was obviously flirting. He even asked, "Doesn't it make you fall in love all over again?" right after. FFS.

Anyway, she didn't treat him like shit. Like I said, she didn't say anything. In fact, she didn't say anything to any of the Lifestream Brigade when they showed up.

Cause he was already dead, and he knew he was about to give up the ghost and go back to the hell he came back from. So he was at peace with it and didn't care anymore. His attitude is definitely going to change when going from being brutally beaten senseless, to finally actually passing on.
But only if it's in AC/C, huh? Couldn't possibly apply to the ending of the original game where he was brutally beaten senseless and had a few seconds before actually passing on.

Mako wrote:
TresDias wrote: And I really don't see much of a difference between laughing while dying in one instance and making an empty promise to come back like Freddy Krueger in another.
Pretty big difference. In one, he's basically crying and looking like "WHY ME?!" while apparently laughing manically like Kefka.
Sounds like Sephiroth to me.

Hell, this is the same Sephiroth who Cloud could hear laughing even though Seph had just lost his body and his shot at godhood. I mean, really.

Mako wrote: In another he's just making a threat that despite his death, he will survive. In this instance his words match his expression at the time.
Well, you've already said he can make his expression look like whatever he wants it to, despite how he's feeling. For all you know, he was crying on the inside. Did you ever think of that, Mako? Did you?

No! You were too busy 'gasming over Nomura's CG wankfest to even consider how Sephiroth felt! Fuck you!

Fuck. You.

But, again, I'm not arguing canon here. I'm arguing consistency. And it can be achieved.

Why, by the way, do you have such a hard time with this one, but have never challenged either of the explanations we crafted for the acrobatics put on display in AC/C?

Nobody said otherwise. Doesn't mean that he didn't think it was worth laughing over when he lost because either a) he didn't think such a thing was possible, or b) he knew it would be possible for him to come back.

Not really. Did Shin-Ra rouse a united effort against Sephiroth? Yes? Did they throw everything they had at him at any time? Ever?

Response to Loxetta
Loxetta wrote: I officially change my stance to say that it wasn't a WEAPON at all. It was just some weird looking rocks that look like a WEAPON and Nomura is giggling at fans flipping out over it.
More like Kitase, probably. Nomura didn't seem to have much involvement with CC.

Loxetta wrote: Yea, but Cloud didn't appear a success. Remember in Crisis Core wandering around the mansion after getting out of the tanks and finding notes lying around the place? They state that Cloud and Zack were both considered failures in the copy project. Yea, Hojo was wrong, but for the book to say the same as a game it's about isn't really all that inconsistent.
You know, I had forgotten about that. Which just means that we have yet another contradiction. XD The notes on the floor in the Shinra Mansion in the original game said that a reaction to JENOVA was detected in Cloud, and was meant to be our final clue that he was actually a success.

So, yeah, CC is an even bigger clusterfuck than I remembered. Thanks, Loxetta!

Loxetta wrote: I guess it's possible that Hojo would have, but the whole thing feels like a mess. I don't know what I was thinking trying to defend it Just trying to rationalize I guess.
Valiant effort. I actually used to do the same. It was when the fourth version of the Nibelheim Incident rolled around that I finally threw up my hands and said, "Done."

Loxetta wrote: Okay, now I see. That's definately different. Not that different though, the only thing that couldn't be argued about is whether or not the lab assistant opened the tank vs Zack breaking it. A matter of New-overwrites-Old or a matter of flashback-POV.
Well, in the present day of the original game, Zack's container appears to still be in one piece, and the scratches he and Cloud made are still there. So I'm calling it Retcon City.

It's actually much like Raccoon City, and deserves the same fate that city received. And by that I mean the fate it had in "Nemesis," "Outbreak," "Outbreak File #2" and "The Umbrella Chronicles" all rolled into one successive series of conflagration. Hopefully that would be enough to kill everything dwelling there.

Loxetta wrote: You know, now that I think about it, that whole leaving the mansion sequence rubs me the wrong way. Two lab specimens break out of a basement lab, and run through the town, only to be attacked by soldiers at the town gate who are there to capture them for escaping. One of the specimens is unconscious and the other is woozy, so they go back to the mansion they just escaped from and just sort of... camp out for the night. And nobody in the army think to go and, I dunno, look around in there maybe? But then the next day the town is crawling with soldiers and then outside of town there's a Turk looking for them?

I mean... what?
Exactly! The whole sequence is fucking dumb. It's seriously worse than Deepground's "We've got them on the run! Alright men, retreat!" incident at the WRO headquarters in DC.

Loxetta wrote: Another matter of New-overwrites-Old or flashback-POV, then I'd think. Now that Square developed Zack's character more, guess they just wanted to alter some things to make them fit him more. With what we know about Zack now it's more in-character for him to want to make sure Cloud's hidden.
I agree, but I would have thought of the original as well. I just always took it as they were caught out in the open and Zack didn't have a choice but to drop Cloud where he was and run back to fight. We do hear the sounds of battle off-screen, after all.

Heck, even the original version of AC went with the original game's depiction. You have Zack running back to Cloud and shouting at him to run before blood splatters across the camera.

Still, the way ACC presented it can fit with the original game too because of how it jumps around so much. You just have Zack asking that the driver stop behind a rock, then Zack walking off and leaving Cloud, but later we have Cloud flashing back to Zack and Aerith's deaths simultaneously, and when he thinks of Zack, he sees Zack standing in front of all those soldiers -- which Cloud presumably should have been able to see in the original game's depiction, but not in CC's.

Yes, I've thought this out too much.

Loxetta wrote: I wouldn't, from my perception of Turks. They might have talked about it amongst themselves, and probably did, but I'd think when facing Cloud & Co they just kept their business masks on.

They might have also picked up on Cloud being a little nutso. The guy's running around claiming to be a former SOLDIER First Class, which they'd know to be untrue. And Cloud would have denied it anyway.
Hm. You make a good point. That could even be tied into Reno's reaction that Cloud had mako eyes. "Wtf? He wasn't a SOLDIER."

Loxetta wrote: Well it was 30 years earlier Maybe the uniform standards changed since back then.

Theory: Shortly before the beginning of the original game, Reno accidentaly set fire to the Turk laundry truck. They all had to wear blue suits until new black suits could be ordered, tailored, and sent, which didn't happen until near the end of the game when they had too much bullshit to take care of to worry about it.
I see now! They made use of the old uniforms from Vincent's days in the meantime! It all fits!

Loxetta wrote:
TresDias wrote: Yeah, I shouldn't even bother counting its individually wrapped failings.
Loxetta wrote: BC sucks. Full stop.

Please take the needle out of my arm. I no longer have the strength.

Loxeteta wrote: [Theory about Zack being in the Negative Lifestream]
Thematically, I don't believe it fits, but mechanically, I see nothing wrong with this theory.

And everybody else can read theirs below.

Ryushikaze wrote: Lox, with regards to Geostigma, if Zack had died while Sephiroth was exerting his influence, you might have a point, but he didn't even make the call until about four months after Zack bit the big one. Geostigma didn't even start until Sephiroth had to try for his plan B, so unless he can retroactively 'collect' everyone who ever had Jenova cells, he wouldn't have Zack.
Why couldn't he? It's not implied, but it's really not implausible either.

Mako Eyes wrote: I also took the ending's last view of the scene as symbolic, considering Zack isn't quite the same as the bodies of the remnants of Sephiroth, or fully mutated Genesis or Angeal copies. Considering they were so far into their degradation and transformation into monsters, and the remnants didn't really have bodies to begin with...it makes sense for them to just vanish into lifestream. Zack however, isn't like them at all. A body would be left behind, as shown in the original FFVII.
In fairness, the original FFVII's depiction of the scene ended earlier than CC's.

Looneymoon wrote: Is it just me, or does the actual LT not actually interest anyone anymore? I'm more fascinated by how it affects relations within the fandom. If I were a sociology major, that would be part of my thesis

EverybodysGrudge wrote: Wow... it was a long ass ride getting to the end of this thread. The current end, anyway. I loved it almost all the way through, let's face it it basically started out as a diehard Cloti thread, with fake Clerith arguments thrown up for comedic effect, which frequently went off to the land of random shit. And that was hilarious.

It did not get any serious debate on the subject until shortly after the translation of the High Affection Highwind Scene got full attention finally (props for that btw, better late than never) which is when the thread supposedly became "made-of-win". Only then did the pinkness threaten to engulf the world and suck it into the Shipper-Void. It's like they sensed our (yes our, even though I love Aerith I am quite committed to Cloti and have been for years) coming final victory and had to gather their strength for one last battle, throwing out old tricks that don't hold weight anymore (not that they ever held much, face it) and just giving it one more useless push. It's a lot like that last scripted fight with Sephiroth actually, he can't possibly win, Cloud has his ultimate technique even if you didn't ever get or learn it (DEMAND=Omnislash) but hey, he had to try right?

I feel bad for the Cleriths in a way. Yes, they depend on delusional false logic to support their clearly dead crusade for "eternal CXA lurve!!!" but who among us hasn't clung stubbornly to something we knew rationally to be false? Hell, I used to "ship" for myself and a girl I loved, long after I could rationally see that she was using me and such (extreme example since those are real people... unless I'm someone's dream) but valid, just on a different scale. So really, as each Clerith eventually is forced to confront the truth and admit Cloti (or, possibly Clerra, I suppose, or any other non CXA pairing) is having their poor little pink heart broken. And no ribbon is going to tie it back together this time, not once they finally let it go. I don't blame them, after 12 years of the LTD, for finding it hard to pry themselves loose and "abandon ship" Sweet, pun.

Still, I can forgive you guys (I just joined this thread, totally not my fault you stepped on their pink-shaded glasses, oh fucker no lol) for all the Clerith pain you have caused. But one thing is unforgivable!

I WAS PROMISED JELLO WRESTLING!!!!

Failure to deliver unto the masses, mainly myself because I can be a selfish prick sometimes, Final Fantasy girls in a jello wrestling match after putting it in the title must be punished. And thus...

HEAR, HEAR

It's been done. Like 10 years ago, actually. Except in that one, it was because Cloud, Aerith (yeah, she was alive again) and Tifa all agreed to share. Cloud grew a second member to accomodate the second woman.
I was a 3 year old ten years ago, so I couldn't have known.

Also LINKAGE PLZ.

Tried to find it, but no luck, sadly. I haven't looked for it in probably five years now. Can't remember the author or the title.
