It should've been still called XIII-3 but it wasn't, just Lightning Returns or FFXIIILR as I refer to it, or just LR.

The FF Wiki refers to the Trilogy as a whole as the Lightning Saga.

It has a few sidestories to read between the games, but it's worth checking out.

XIII-2 is the best game, IMO. I liked the concept of Lightning Returns well enough, but I never got gud at it, and basically brute forced/Artemis Arrowed my way through all the things.

XIII-2 is definitely more fun, but it has a cap on how much you can add to the experience after a while.

Lightning Returns is actually more fun on subsequent playthroughs, as opposed to the first one, ironically. Mostly because you get loads stronger and more god-like (heck even the DLC makes you LOOK god-like) as you play.

omg! hope is back and as respectable of a character as ever! i just have a couple questions, hope is 24 correct? and does he have a crush on serah or something? he acts a little strange around her.

Nah I think he just sort of considers her family, like with Lightning.

okay because he was holding her hands and then jumped away nervously, then he went out his way to help her up from some steps. must be something else then.

also is there a translation of the fragments after book somewhere? or is 242 pages too much for anyone, even the most dedicated fans?

My advice would be to read it in chunks as you progress through the game, it's more or less extra story that fills in the gaps from chapter to chapter.

I wouldn't recommend reading that until after you complete the game.
