Come to think of it, I read lots of FFVII stories on the site itself, and Kingdom Hearts.
Yeah, I loved findthetiger's fic and we used to do some RPing together back in the Genesis Award days, but I don't know if she's still active in the fandom. Sometimes the names people use on tumblr aren't the same as their fanfic writing names and then I have no idea that they're the same person.

Anyway, I binge-read the entire thing. It was excellent. Now I want more.
I've got a few FFVII fanfics in my FF.Net account(same name as this one here), though there are some spelling mishaps, I should warn you now, since I'm still not that crash hot on my spelling, if you're interested. *I have 56 stories put up and working on twelve at the moment, 'cuz the rest of them are finished already*.

Or, if you like, I can set up links of them to make things easier for you.

Last I checked, findthetigher set up another FFVII fic, featuring the beginnings of the Turks, though I suspect she's busy at the moment, but yeah, she's still active on fandom. But yeah, I favorited her and her "By a Fraction of a Degree" story since I love it so much(and she pretty much finished the FFVII alternate universe story before the actual FFVII franchise was finished by the guys who made it in the first place in just two years from start to finish).

I tend to read only from AO3 because I've got the display settings right on there and I can bookmark/ prefer the format (I actually went to the trouble of finding The Fifth Act on there rather than FF.net) but feel free to link them

I see. In that case, I'll link them now.

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/1058118...al-Fantasy-VII Number one-(working on a somewhat a remake of it, but I'll link that one another time).

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/1060954...pisode-of-Reno Number two-(novelization of an episode I could never find on Youtube or anywhere else, so I had to guess from the script format).

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10580180/1/Not-Yet-Time Number three-(first one I did, but it's not much).

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/1058897...Condor-in-Need Number four-(just for fun, I guess).

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10594587/1/Familiar Number five-(short but a bit emotional).

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/1071460...sode-of-Legend Number six-(another novel version of an special episode which again was never found on youtube or anywhere else).

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/1131744...ill-never-come And finally, number seven-(heh, I guess this numbered of the actual game's number itself, and this one was when the announcement of FFVII Remake was done, so you don't have to read this one if you think it's too much).

I know I said a few, but I pretty much forgot how many I actually wrote, and I know that a few means three, not twenty.

Posted this in the Fan-Art thread, but might as well post it here where it belongs...

Accurate Nomenclature

Summary:

""...we still don’t have a comprehensive grasp of the Ancient syllabary, even with the work Doctor Valentine has done on the Western Continental sites, but this part," she continued, pointing to a string of three characters graven in obsidian, "is definitely the name, and the consensus is that it reads Je-no-va."

"Jenova," Gast echoed. "Do we have any idea what it means?""

I'd have to say that my favorite FF VII fanfics are TheScreamingViking's crossover stories.

FF VII and Mass Effect: N7 SOLDIER
Priority: Gaia
One Last Mission

FF VII and Dragon Age: Champions and Heroes (WARNING: canon contradictory statement about Sephiroth's parentage inside.)

While I do appreciate the likes or thanks I've been given, what I'm really interested in are actual replies. Coming from other forums, ones without likes, thumbs up or thanks buttons, I don't really put much weight on such things. I just want your opinions on the Final Fantasy VII crossover fanfics I posted links to.

I haven't played Mass Effect or Dragon Age, so I wouldn't read those fics. Maybe you could explain what it is about them that you find particularly appealing?

For one, I finished reading Champions and Heroes a whole year before I played even one Dragon Age game Dragon Age Inquisition. Come to think of it Champions and Heroes helped convince me to go looking for a Dragon Age game in the first place. I also haven't played a single Mass Effect game, yet I'm a big fan of TheScreamingViking's Mass Effect/Final Fantasy VII crossovers.

What I like most about Champions and N7 SOLDIER are their naturalistic dialogues, well done use of the "fish out of water" trope and how it might effect the setting of FF VII and the interaction between the heroines, Dragon Age's Marian Hawke in Champions and Commander Shepard in N7 SOLDIER, and the various Crisis Core characters, including the allies both draw to themselves, though both stories go different routes.

In Champions and Heroes, Hawke arrives on Gaia, unconscious, in the slums of Midgar, only to be found be a certain 15 year-old girl and her step mother then nursed back to health. Later on Hawke becomes that girl's mentor and protector for a while. N7 SOLDIER opens with Shepard having to decide the fate of the known universe at the Crucible, then waking up just outside a Shinra military base in Junon, then punching out a Shinra trooper over his crack about "the computers fighting back".

Stuck in Reverse by Lily10 / absence makes the heart bleed faster by puertoricanjane on ffnet are absolute favourites of mine. I can't currently post links because of a newbie restriction, but I love a good, angsty Tifa-centric fic :-)

Might anyone have recommendations of a similar vein?

So I just tried to start re-reading "By A Fraction of a Degree". Don't know how successful I'll be, I don't nearly have enough time as I use to in the past.

Remember starting to read it at the end of my 8th grade year and the author wasn't even finished it, and wouldn't be finished until the middle of freshman year. Remember loving the crap outta of it, and the nostalgia is kind of hitting me again.

_____
If anyone has other fics like Fraction let me know.

I favorited By A Fraction of a Degree because I loved it so much too, and thankfully the story is now finished; two years worth of writing I recall. I would catch up until it was finished even when I had other things in life I had to do. You'll enjoy it.

There is another FFVII fanfic that I like, which is set after Dirge of Cerberus, "The Planet's Enemy" which also gives us the author's own idea about where the game's secret ending would take place.

Gave you a link just in case.
