It might do, although you also have to account for how much more time it will take to cross the world map. How long did it take to go from Midgar to Kalm in the original? 15 seconds with no battles? That's gonna become a far larger part too. It's almost inevitable.

I would assume a lot of that is because you can skip through text and run between screens in Midgar quite quickly for a speedrun. Whereas you can't "skip" through running across a map and fighting random battles.

That just makes me hope we can ride the trains around Midgar. As part of the open-world exploration, not just during the story. I have some kind of weird fascination over transport systems in open-world games. (I wish there were a lot more of them, and a lot less fast-travel warping)

Are most japanese people actually reading the english words with something like this? Or are they just seeing it as a set of symbols that they know represents Final Fantasy (but not because they're reading it)?

That would be kinda silly but it sounds possible. Do they get paid even if they're not in an episode though? Cersei wasn't in episode 2 at all.

Having english words for western inventions definitely makes sense. It seems weird for a Japanese invention though. Surely Final Fantasy at some point went by its japanese name? Whatever that is.

Yeah I don't think we ever got a good explanation as to why they abandoned the 10-episode seasons. Seasons 7 and 8 haven't improved by being shorter, so what was the point?

They do it for non-fantasy things too though, don't they? Is it just kind of appropriating it in the same way we appropriate roman numerals?
