Anyone want to head over to GameFaqs, put our site in your sig...

...and post in some of the FF boards here and there to get some attention our way? No? I made this frontpage post! Pretty please? There's about 15,000 topics, and almost 200,000 posts on GameFaqs FFVII board alone.

Even a fraction of that activity our way would boost things tremendously. I was looking at some of our site activity stats, and well, it's looking kinda dire, honestly. Whenever you guys want to take Old Yeller back behind the shed, I'm ready when you are.

I was only kidding; this thread is just an idea I was throwing out there.

I wasn't kidding about our site stats though; they're looking kinda flat. Take that however you will.

Up next were gonna join different forums and pm members to join TLS.
Then will post up porn on various porntube sites and have the TLS link just as the guy blows his load at the end.
After that we will join forums and just keep spamming the link in what ever thread we find.

This is getting sad.

Yes, though releasing anything of note would probably do the trick. Our "Most Users Ever Online" is still the [Japanese] release date for FFXIII.

I personally really don't think that'll actually work, tbh. Signature links are ignored by search engines (as they're recurring too often for the bot to think "This is relevant to my interests" - and if not by the bot then by the forum software, as spamming links will get your own page banned), and I'm pretty sure a lot of people won't click through on such links unless they are actually relevant to their interests.

So a link going "omg hax tls.net" will be less relevant than "Find teen virgin hotties near you"... or something related to an article.

Also, the situation's not 'dire', it's exactly the same as it has been for months, .

What works (based on rankings of traffic sources over the last month according to Google Analytics)

* Good articles (preferably controversial ones)
* Good Google ranking (google is currently the #2 traffic source... and #5, #6, #7, #8 and #9)

Actually, the list I'm looking at seems to have changed a lot since last time. Earlier, we got a lot of visitors from Google Images (in various countries), but now that's mainly Google itself.

Faux edit: Nevermind, it's because Google changed his URLs and image search - incoming viewers that came from Google image search earlier (images.google.com) are now coming from google.com/imgres (which is the image viewer when clicking through on an image on google)

Still, images are our #1 source of visitors, it seems.

#4th place has been taken by finalfantasy.wikia.com - I dunno who put links to our site up there, but it's worked 2,219 times in the past month, . Next non-Google one is Facebook at #10, next non-google one after that is TVTropes at #13.

Facebook, huh? That's interesting. I occasionally link friends of mine to an article we've posted, but not THAT much. Are other people doing that too? Pretty funny that we get stuff from TVTropes too, lol.

It was extremely amusing.

I've linked the odd article from facebook, but it's surprising it's that high on the list.

The 18th (weekend of Dissidia 2) was the biggest weekend we had in a LONG time.

The Forums peaked on the 17th with 1,281 visits (Average ~880).
The Frontpage peaked on the 18th with 2,413 visits (Average before ~1300, Average after ~1400).

Really, I think that being current on news and keeping the frontpage dynamic is going to help the site, so Cloud_S's being added to our Staff. Aside from that, getting links on common sources of information, especially wikis and such helps with traffic.
