Yeah so while I have enough alcohol in my system to not be totally fucking embarrassed I figured I'd start an art thread. :monster:

Most of these are unfinished, and unless otherwise stated done entirely in photoshop. Also some of you have probably already seen these.

This was done for Oni Peridot who seems to have gone awol now. She liked it though, she wanted a BC style portrait of her RP character. This was done in pencil first and then scanned etc etc. If I was doing this now I would have done it all on the graphics tab :monster:

If someone can tell me where I got the reference pic for this from I will be very impressed (clue: I am ashamed to have used such a source pic for Tselena, and no, its not pR0n!)

I LOVE the dog!! OMG! It's simply amazing!! The owl is also very good!

The owl, which I haven't seen before, is amazing, so alive (the dog too). I love its eyes and the way you've done its ear-tufts. The eyes, in all of them, are wonderful. I also love the lines, and the way you make the light fall. I had no idea one could do all this with photoshop.

Keep drawing! More!

the way the female body was contoured in the Reno piece makes the proportions look a bit wierd, but apart from that everything looks hella swish :cthulhu:

Splendid work, Octo. Especially the monochrome pieces, those are brilliant. The doggy looks so lifelike, as if something has really caught his eye. Probably Timmy falling down the mine shaft again.

Oh my god, you're right! She looks like she has an extra long ribcage! :lol:

This is what I get for not using a reference pic, at an earlier stage I decided I wanted her head and upper body to be closer to Reno and so instead of redrawing the entire thing I did the ol' cut and paste and moved it up a bit, but in my cold reptilian haste I forgot to readjust the lower half. I mean, shes supposed to have a boyish figure but not like that! :lol:

It really pays off to show other people your work, because they can point out mistakes with their fresh eyes. Thanks. I'll have to fix it when I get home after festivus.

Actually, I'd be willing to take suggestions for stuff, get me out of my comfort zone and keep me focused. So if anyone can think of anything they'd like me to desecrate draw, post it here :monster:

Yeah that sounds just about do-able. Might take me a while to find some good reference pics. I might cheat and do something monochrome, I find it hard enough getting light and shadow right without having to worry about colours :monster:

Do you think she should be in an actiony type pose kicking the shit out of something or something more sedate?

I think monochrome's good. You're great at it, and as it's been said, the dog is amazing (and so is the owl, to be honest).

The pose... something you think is good. I think something more sedate might be easier, but I suck at drawing so what do I know. Both are fine I think.

3 fucking years since I posted in this thread. I need to sort my shit out.

Can you guys suggest stuff? Not anything big or complicated, just stuff to get me drawing again. Oh and no FFVII (I know I said I'd draw Tifa but I just looked back on my attempts and hate them) and no LOTR/Hobbit stuff (far far far too hard)

So basically if you want a random napkin doodle of some random shit, make a suggestion and there's a 1 in 14 million chance I'll do it :monster:

So... Doodle an object that matters much to you? Or maybe a toy Freyb likes? Maybe even doodle something you associate with "that thing that often prevent me from drawing". Go meta an' sh*t.

If you're stuck for ideas, use synectic triggers on old ideas / things you're interested in. So for example, with the suggested owl, what would happen if you apply these following words to the idea of an owl: Subtract, Repeat, Combine, Add, Transfer, Empathise, Animate, Superimpose, Change Scale, Analogise, Hybridise, Fantasize, Metamorphise, Symbolise, Mythologise, Substitute, Fragment, Isolate, Distort, Prevaricate, Equivocate, Disguise, Contradict, and Parody... and so on :P. Think of at least a few different concepts for each of these words. Mwahaha.
