AC to ACC Comparisons

I showed this to a colleague of mine that works with Photoshoop / graphic design, he was apparently enjoying it, :monster:.

Speaking of, I should find a sub and bring the movie over to work, I'm sure there'd be people interested in watching it. And I'd be able to show that SE >>> Pixar in terms of visuals.

Do it. Pixar's animaton's really not that amazing anymore, they just have a well established niche, and people know them for making good movies. Even looking at game cinematic animation, like the Opening Video for StarCraft 2, is more impressive as far at the level of realism, etc (although it's not quite the same as comparing it to a feature film like ACC).

I haven't watched Pixar movies for ages. Basically, the plot is always the same. Put some cute animals into it, don't forget mixing the fluffy creatures with predictable story twists and voila - complete is the box-office hit for children and parents, sentenced to accompany their kids.

Blizzard's still second place on my List of Epic 3D Shizzle, mind. And Gollum. Blizzard's been win since the first Starcraft (which looks pretty meh nowadays, but back then, holy shit look at the details when that dude smokes his cigar, :monster: ), and was awesome in the much-too-infrequent FMV's of Warcraft 3. Only seen the 'it's about time' FMV of Starcraft 2, mind.

Pixar and Dreamworks are suffering from the 'we have to release a new movie every year (or six months)'-complex, which means they have to focus on getting the production done instead of being able to push the boundaries of 3D / CG technology or even visual style. Wall-E was the exception to the rule, pretty much.

And no, I don't care how much hairs they've put on their furries.

You know I never noticed in the original movie that Cloud grabbed the wrong sword for the fight at the Forgotten City. :awesome:

Me too. Actually, I missed almost all the slip-ups in AC. I was too busy marveling. XD

So true.

Speaking of which, there's something that I always wondered about: who gives Cloud the swords during the battle?

I mean I always thought that, even though it's Marlene shouting, Vincent was the one who put the swords in front of Cloud. I read somewhere that it was Marlene, though, but aren't those swords too heavy for a six year old to even drag, much less actually pick up?

Wha? What are you talking about? During the battle in the Sleeping Forest, Cloud only used two swords. The main blade, and then the smaller one with the red handle. He had those two snapped together when he went at Kadaj and when Vincent rescued him. After that the rest of the swords were with his bike which he went back for with Marlene when he went to take her back to Edge.

No, they're both connected.

You can see they're both connected when he readies his sword when he notices a russling in the bushes and you see its Marlene.

I know it's to be a very sad, poignant and dramatic scene, but still...

Sephiroth in the flames: Makes me think of Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash.

'I fell in to a burning ring of fire ... and the flames raise (rose?) up higher, and it burns, burns, burns ... The ring of fire, the ring of fire ...'

I'm in an odd mood. :P Thank you for sharing the pictures. :)

Though, on the home page, I swear it looks like they crimped Cloud's hair!? I guess it's just the graininess of the pictures?

After he falls from the bike if I'm not mistaken he only manages to keep the one that snaps on the main sword near him...

Yeah what Tet said. When Loz throws Cloud in the beginning of the fight he lands, then looks up to see that he's right next to his sword that he dropped while trying to keep his bike from running over the children.

Ah I see. I was wondering if that is what you had meant.

And yes, I get what you say. It could. :)
