I can't seem to find the quote that I wrote a while back. Did anyone delete it or something?

If so or if I didn't and it was my imagination, then I'll say it again.

Just because Advent Children Complete's got a new cover doesn't mean it's being re-released. Every DVD/Bluray Covers of movies, both like in the 1960's, 70's, 80's, 90's and even the 2000's get new covers all the time but they still sell them normally, if you know what I mean.

Tasha. It's being re-released.

Putting something out with a shiny new cover after it's been out for a long time qualifies as a re-release.

It may not be a re-release in the context that everyone's used to, but it's a re-release, plain and simple. It happens with books at the store where I work all the time. Only in their case it's "republished". :monster:

What are you understanding "re-released" to mean, Tash? I don't think it's what you think it is.

Tash. It's being re-released.

Okay, you guys have a good point. But what I'm trying to say is, it's not like Nomura suddenly re-edited it or adding new scenes again like seven years ago. Besides, he can't do that because he point blank told us that he and the team are not using the engine they used for the past ten years anymore.(personally, I think Nomura should've asked Team Ninja Studios to co-produce FFVII Remake rather than Avalanche Studios. Sorry, but Unreal 4 Engine looks edgy and Cloud and Barret look terrible in the Remake. I know this will change, but still.)

Anyway, sorry for my confusion. But really, it is just the same movie they just decided to stamp onto Bluray(or DVD in other cases) again with a new cover after taking a break after all of the previous copies were sold out. That's the way it seems to work for me, since I already have the movies they continuously re-release with different covers.

I don't think anyone thought he had. A rerelease is typically just a reprinting of an existing product. At best it'll have new menus/cover art. Though every once in awhile a rerelease will get a new commentary track or behind the scenes feature, or a preview of some related product (like a new FF7 Remake trailer? Please?).

I was talking about the movie itself, not the features. But again, you have a good point.

But I don't think the re-release will get a new trailer of FF7 Remake. If they're not showing anymore of the remake next week or before the end of the year(I can't believe we only have three months until the end of 2016 already!), I seriously doubt the re-release of Advent Children Complete will have anything like that.

A tralier or playable demo of FFXV, maybe, since the last release back in 2009 had a playable demo of FFXIII before it's release on PS3, but nothing on FFVII Remake(Hate to break to you, Kionae, but I think the Remake is more of a reboot and they're not continuing the Compilation, which is horrible in my opinion. Hopefully, and I'm hoping against hope, that I'm wrong about this).

Probably have to wait until next year to hear more on it, since it's pretty clear they're not even going to release part one of the Remake in it's 20th Aniversary. The closest we'll probably get is more merchandise to keep us busy. At least we'll see Cloud in KH3(if they decide to have Cloud return in KH3 and release said game next year).

If there are any additions to this release, I'd guess they might include one or both of the remake trailers available now.

As for more remake news, we still have TGS (which starts in two days) and Playstation Experience in December before the year is out.

Nah, I don't think so. FFVII Remake has been quiet since last year and we haven't seen much of any updates like with FFXV, KH2.8, World of Final Fantasy and Dissidia Final Fantasy. Otherwise we'd be hearing about FFVII Remake making an appearence in the TGS by now.

Besides, we'd also see it's logo along with other Square Enix games for the event this week. But since there's been no saying in that, it's pretty much obvious that we won't be hearing more about that until next year at the very latest.

I think additions are fairly unlikely because The Spirits Within is also being re-released on the same day.

When I saw that a week or so ago I thought that was the normal cover, but it seems I just remember that image because it was a movie poster. It doesn't seem to have been released with that cover before.

Maybe both Spirits Within and Advent Children Complete are being re-released due to Kingsglaive coming out on DVD/Bluray next month since the latter film is the third CG Final Fantasy film ever made in history.

However, one thing I can say about this is Advent Children and Kingsglaive are both part of the main franchises(the former being a sequel to FFVII*the first chapter of the solving case between the Lifestream destroying Meteor and the Epilogue 500 years later*, and the latter being a prequel/opening to FFXV) and Spirits Within is it's own thing and it has no connections with any other Final Fantasy titles at all, and it's the only media that is not connected to a game or even has a game counterpart.

I don't mind the cover. Just wish Cloud was fully rendered since that pose is pretty cool. And I also wish they'd add in Tifa, Denzel, Marlene, the remnants, the Turks, Rufus, Yuffie, Vincent, ect. on the cover, and not place in Sephiroth. I mean, why bother in placing Sephiroth if he only appears in the very final battle within the film.

His other appearences don't count because they are either hallucenations(Rufus sees this with his first encounter with Kadaj after the latter kidnapped Tseng and Elena, and knocked out Reno and Rude), or painful memories via Geostigma attack whenever Cloud experiences it at the wrong time.

Then again covers on dvds and bluray these days for movies, both old and new, are becoming dull and boring with just one character on the front cover.

Probably because Sephiroth is a known character (even if you don't know his name, you probably know the guy from that Final Fantasy with long silver hair in a black coat), compared to the others.

The very final battle is pretty long and too many characters would clog that cover. Cloud and Sephiroth is just better then say, Cloud and Kadaj, even if that would more accurately promote the main conflict of the movie.

So just for shits and giggles (and because I already owned five different releases of the damn thing prior to this anyway... what's one more?) I picked this up. Yeah... just the original Advent Children Complete blu-ray release in new packaging. But it did comes with an UltraViolet digital copy code, which I don't think the first release did. Now I guess I own seven different releases... so there's that, I guess. :monster:

It was Calling. It's literally just a re-press of the original ACC, right down the the "preview" of FFXIII. I think even the menus are the same, though I didn't have time last night to pop in the other disc to check.

I will take anyone who says bad things about Calling and we're going to have a fight

But if it's ACC, did they just take the credit sequence from the original AC and stick it on the end of ACC?

Calling is fine...but there's nothing interesting about it. Safe and Sound is something one might actually want to sing along with.

The lyrics also fit Cloud better.

I'm on the "Calling" side of this argument. I was a fan of Gerard Way's voice prior to Safe and Sound being a thing and don't get me wrong - I actually love the song. Like I really like it. But in terms of the song I want to hear at the end of Advent Children, it's always going to be Calling. Because that's basically the "OG" (OM? XD) canon song that plays at the end of AC, for me.

Safe and Sound is something one might actually want to sing along with.

I think this is a weird plus point to give it since it's in English and Calling is in Japanese, I'm not sure the tracks can be compared like that unless you're like... equally fluent in both languages.

For the record this is me just realising (after looking it up) that "Safe and Sound" was apparently only ever on the ACC release in Japan? Which is kind of insane because the physical blu-ray I have has Safe and Sound on it. I must have been sent a Japanese version (I bought it from Amazon not too long ago, I had the DVD before that). Which makes no sense because everything else about it is in English. Huh.
