If a German speaker can make a case for having a link to CetraConnection on our Map to FFVII Sites, please let me know. :salute:

Just say Tets, it's not like there's any other Germans around here :wacky:

As the one who actually suggested the affiliation way back when...I have no idea, really. :monster:
I guess there wasn't much of a point to affiliations after all and people coming to this site would be mainly English-speaking/non-German and probably not interested.
Quite honestly, I haven't visited the site myself in ages. =p

Could the AO3 and ff.net links maybe link directly to the Final Fantasy VII tag, like so:

Archive of Our Own & FanFiction

Done. Thank ye. :salute:

The reason I didn't do this immediately is because I was unsure if the sites used multiple tags for FFVII, like 'final fantasy vii', 'final fantasy 7', 'ffvii' and 'ff7' and that only one tag doesn't show the whole archive. But even if they use multiple 'title' tags, the links are better this way.

CetraConnection and Final Fantasy Union have now both been mailed about the fact that we no longer apply the concept of affiliates and that our site no longer links to them, thus justifying if they decide to no longer link to The Lifestream. I thanked both for having been affiliates to TLS these last few years. Hopefully both mails got sent and received properly.

Actually, Shadey, at AO3 there are two separate tags:

Compilation of FFVII has 4,083 works

Final Fantasy VII has 3,163 works.

Many of these works are duplicates, tagged under both. If we are only going to link to one, I would link to the one with the larger number of works.

On a related topic, what do you want to do about the various fan works websites other than AO3 and FF.net? I am thinking, for example, of the site that hosts Frank Verderosa's seminal Internet series of fan fiction. Do we want it linked at the "Map to FFVII" sites or the fan works section? I have quite a lot of links for older sites (like IcyBrian) that contain gems of fan fiction never posted at the Big Two.

Agreed. Link has been updated with the one that uses the Compilation of FFVII tag. Sankye.

Going from intuition I think I'd rather have those two links in Fan Works. HOWEVER, this motivates me to include a link to our Fan Works page in the Map to FFVII Sites page.

I imagine a passage like this below the paragraph about 'be aware of mature content'.
If you wish to dig deeper in search for FFVII fanfiction then please check out the links in our Fan Works section.

The purpose of the Map to FFVII Sites is to let fans know about the 'basics' of navigating the FFVII online fandom. I imagine that the Fan Works section, as you rewrite that page according to your vision (and create sub-pages, I assume) will make people into something more akin to experts in the landscape of FFVII fanfiction.

Those are my thoughts for now at least. *strokes non-existent beard*
