Ages of people who don't have ages.

I thought he was agreeing with you. They absolutely are. The women over there have to make themselves look so disgustingly cute and juvenile to be considered hot.

I consider the Turks, with the exception of Elena, to be older 26 or so. Reno and Rude were notable members of the Turks when Cloud was still 14. They would have to have been at least 19 at that time to have achieved that, I think, preferably older but I don't think they're much older than 28 in AC.

lols.. That is some sterotype!

And judging on the base of the age of all the other characters to put them in a demographic.. I would say Elena's the youngest since she's the newest.. so 19? Reno and Rude I would assume be a year or two older than Cloud.. maybe 23ish? Tseng was older when he was spying on Aerith, but also slightly older than Zack? I would assume oldest so maybe 25...

But that would place Reno and Rude at just 16 in BC, when they were already the Turks' main field ops.

As for the stereotype, that was intentional, lol.

Well.. I don't know! Cloud made it into SOLDIER at 14, didn't he? Zack was only 17 (?) when he got First Class, wasn't he?

Cloud never made SOLDIER, and Zack was 18.

I realize that was probably a typo about Cloud, but yes, he joined the military at 14, but was by no means a distinguished member.

Well no he never made SOLDIER, sorry, wording was off. He was 14 for when he left and made it at least into grunt work, right? Kids just... got into things early?

Well, even in the real world, there's not a steep age requirement to enlist to be cannon fodder, especially during a world war.

But the war heroes are far more frequently the Generals than the soldiers. Which is why I had always rather liked the image of Sephiroth actually serving as a field general in Wutai. Though he doesn't issue a single order in CC before Nibelheim.

Don't you just need to be legal age of your country?

During World War II, there were many underage soldiers that got sent into battle simply because the administration didn't care, they just needed more men. This is the case for every major country during the war as well.

Which is why I had always rather liked the image of Sephiroth actually serving as a field general in Wutai. Though he doesn't issue a single order in CC before Nibelheim.

He probably did I'm sure, but the game takes place near the end of the war, so...I wish they expanded on his actual war actions.

Oh I'm sure they did, especially considering the war with Wutai had been going on for ten years, and Wutai was doing pretty well for some time. After all, Cloud got in at 14. I'm not sure if he was deployed in Wutai, but they would have certainly sent his ass in if needed.

14 was probably the cap, though.

But them joining at 16 wouldn't be so unbelieveable. Its that Reno and Rude (and Tseng) were the MAIN operatives at 16. They were the best of the best of the Turks, two 16 year olds?

Again, not unusual in anime, but as I said, FF7's generally been pretty good about that.

Hrm... Well I forgot about BC's timeline.. but regarding the main party, I just sorta assumed they'd be in that age gap, maybe couple years older.

A secret police force is different from grunt military work, though. Even if a country would accept underage soldiers, I doubt they'd welcome underage Special Forces.

I'll put an input, Cissnei (Shuriken) is 16 at the beginning of Crisis Core.

I wrote a journal post on DA last year trying to figure the age of the Turks, to my speculation, I put Reno between the ages of 17 and 19 in Before Crisis, it's been stated that Cissnei is the youngest Turk and it's also been stated that Reno was a young member as well, so I figured he'd still be a teenager. So saying Reno is between the ages of 16 and 19 in Before Crisis, that would make him between the ages of 22 and 25 in the original and 24 and 27 in Advent Children.

Rude I would say is probably two years older than Reno, though might be the other way around since Reno has been a member longer. So I'm guessing Rude is probably about 24-27 in the original game and around 26-29 in Advent Children.

Elena, she was in highschool in Before Crisis, so she was probably around 16, I'm not sure when about she appeared in Before Crisis, so she could be anywhere between 20 and 24 in the original game.

Tseng confuses the hell out of me in some way, the misconception with Tseng looking like an adult in FFVII and knowing Aerith as a child. It was sort of cleared up in Crisis Core, I would probably dub him about 23 in Crisis Core, making him 30 in FFVII and 32 in Advent Children.

So my rough guesses are for the Turks in FFVII:
Reno, 23
Rude, 25
Elena, 22
Tseng, 30

lol tl;dr post.

Hey, he's already her boss, he might as well rob the cradle too if he's going to cross the former taboo. It's no more of an age difference than people pairing Aeris and Sephiroth together—which isn't really wrong because of their age, but for other obvious reasons. It's not like people trying to pair Vincent and Yuffie. That's just gross.

Also, Tseng being 30 in FF7 would make him probably 15-17 when we first see his adult sprite in Aerith's house when Aeris is a child. Elmyra found Aeris when she was 7.

I find that acceptable. Lazy, but acceptable. /shrug

I certainly hope he didn't run the company when he was 18, especially given how many leaps and bounds ShinRa Inc. made at that time. That would be far into the realm of ridiculous.

Rufus: about 25 (FFVII)~27 (AC).

features a flashback of Rufus when he was 5 years old, which the book says was around 20 years before (the scene being set during the WEAPON attack on the Shinra building).
