I've been wanting to see this for a while, but its stubbornly elusive. I can't find it on any stream site I have a sub to, and Red Box isn't carrying it last I checked, and I hate using Redbox because of travel issues.

It's weird how stuff can be so readily available or completely unavailable by region. I know several Redboxes around me have it, and I've even seen it for $8 at a local grocery store.

It probably IS available at Redbox, the problem is that every trip to Walmart costs 5, plus then the cost of the redbox, and then I have to spend another 5 dollars to take it back ontime. So that's 11 bucks to see it. x_x;

I'll just wait till hopefully it ends up on Netflix or Amazon Prime US

Showbox is a free (and somewhat illegal )app that you can download and use to stream series and movies.
It's really good but I'd reccoment getting a VPN if you wanna use it.

Does save on the costs of Netflix/Amazon prime etc etc

Another solid look at some things in the film. It's a bit overly critical of folks digging into the literal bits of the storytelling, but I think that by doing that it does make an interesting point about the reduction of art and metaphor within storytelling.

It's up on Amazon Prime right now. Volume is stupidly low. But 22 minutes in and it smashes an A+ at the Bechdel test, which usually means I'm gonna have a good time.

Quite excited to see you're into it. Very much looking forward to your thoughts, especially with the 3 videos that have been posted in this thread that examine some of the films thematic concepts, metaphors, and presentations.

Apart from some very sudden motivation shifts and that squirrely last 20 minutes, I rather liked it. I want to process it for a few days before I start looking at other people's lectures on it though.

Yeah that thing vividly triggered the part of my brain that has usually been haunted by the werewolf from American Werewolf in London. I've had doubts that a remake could ever work with CGI, but clearly I'm wrong. When it started screaming with a human voice, I almost shut the movie off.

It's definitely worth chewing on the concepts for a few days, but I think that once you dig into those videos, you'll get some interesting perspective differences on things especially around the ending.

At long last I've shared this movie experience with my bestie Dipsiel. He absolutely loved it and he has already passed the recommendation forward. :monster: Afterwards Dips said to me "Thanks for showing me a movie that I needed to see". This is high praise!

Upon this rewatch the movie felt even more meditative than last time. I noticed just how long the shots dwell and how slow the camera moves. There was a wonderful calm about the whole experience. I think it's a calm that comes from knowing beforehand what will happen. The visuals and audio lulled me into bliss moreso than the first time.

I hope I'll get the chance again to share this movie with somebody who hasn't seen it before. It remains one of my favorite sci-fi movies of all time.
