Have you seen any? What are your favorites? Are you watching any now?!

My absolute all-time favorite is the Japanese Hana Yori Dango. I've seen the Korean one, but in terms of story telling and acting, the Japanese one does it better. + I love Jun Matsumoto in his role as Domyoji

Right now I'm watching The Quiz Show [JDrama] with Sho Sakurai!

You guys?

I need to watch one all the way through, of any I've seen I only watch a couple of episodes. I started watching Kimi Wa Petto last summer (wow and I said I was going to finish it...) and Hana Yori Dango because it's like the most popular j-drama, and from what I can tell from those two dramas Jun Matsumoto is a pretty good actor.

Did you know that originally, for the Korean version, DBSK were considered as possible actors for F4?! :o

I remember watching some of the Taiwanese live action drama version of Marmalade Boy. I was interested because I liked the manga so much (I'm a sap at heart). It was kinda lul but entertaining for a little while. :monster:

Hana Kimi is also pretty good. :monster: Both versions.

Nodame Contabile, Nobuta wo Produce, One Litre of Tears, Full House, Zettai Kareshi, My Boss My Hero, Maou...

I love Asian dramas :excited:

And yes, Jun Matsumoto is a pretty good actor, though I like Yamapi and Ikuta Toma better. 8DDD

And I totally crush Horikita Maki.

I don't like her that much - at least based on NwProduce... Maybe I'll like her more when I watch HK

@Hachinamie: if you haven't been hooked to HYD by the 4th episode, maybe HYD is not for you :\\

@Munatik: What is that about?

Hana Kimi is really the only one I've seen. Though, it was awhile ago... I should really freshen up and watch it again. =) Otherwise, I've never really been to interested... Horrors are an entirely different story, however. :monster:

I started watching Mei-chan no Shitsuji tonight. I caught a bit of it on TV but only recently found out what it was called, so went looking for it.

First episode is pretty amusing - it's the first J-drama series I've watched, so I dunno if they're all done like this, but its style was very anime/manga, with sparkles and flowers, cuteness and drama. Likin' it so far!

This. Is the only one I've been watching with any regularity.

I was about to make a start on Hana Yori Dango, though.
MAKE THAT START! =D

So it looks like Maou is worth watching then. I'll watch it over the summer. Also, the guy who does Maou also did another drama called Uta no Onii-San. Do. Not. Watch.

I think for guys, Bambino is a pretty good drama since it's not all lovey-dovey-fangirly.

Maou is awesome. Too awesome. Toma is win. :monster:

HYD is awesome too. It's so awesome that so many countries are making their own versions of it. :awesomonster: Jun Matsumoto is cute there too, BTW.

I have yet to watch HK but I friggin love HYD. I'm a sucker for that kind of crap D:

You should totally watch HK. Oguri Shun (Rui Hanazawa of HYD) plays Sano Izumi in there. :monster: Although I really just watched HK to see more Toma. :awesome:

I've seen NwP and fell in love with Kame and Yamapi!! The rest I've heard about but I do not have enough interest to watch lol
Shuuji to Akira FTW :reptar: I loved Yamapi so much there! He was so cute~ :awesome: Try watching One Litre of Tears. It's extremely awesome... :D

Oh hellz yeah :awesomonster: I can't believe I forgot to list that there. I love that kdrama too! I spent hours on hours watching it in my computer. Torrents are a gift :awesome:

Of course Ikuta Toma is pretty good. :monster: I got acquainted with him through Youtube. I saw this video with him and Yamapi singing together. And I just fell in love :awesome:

THIS TOMAPI VIDEO

Then I started getting into Jdramas. I was more into Kdramas before though.

She's really cute in HK. I liked her so much more in NwP though. Nobuta is pretty cute~ :monster:

Would the Korean film 'Spring, Summer, Winter, Fall, and Spring' (or 'Bom yeoreum gaeul gyeoul geurigo bom') constitute as a drama? If so, that one's awesome and very zen and whatnot, :monster:. And cruel~ish to animals at one point, hence why some of those (very important to the movie) scenes were removed from the British version, wimpy cunts.

But yeah, whilst it may not be on topic, I just wanted to post about that movie and recommend it to you lot as a good, calm and zen~ish movie.

One Litre of Tears was the very first drama I watched. It had a very touching, emotional storyline.

Nodame Cantible is one of my absolute favorites! I didn't think I'd be that interested in a music based drama but I was pleasantly surprised. Music, lots of comedy and a bit of romance, I couldn't ask for a better series.

Despite largely lacking in plot and character development in my opinion, Hana Kimi was a pretty entertaining series overall (the special was boring though). I absolutely loved Ikuta Toma's character.

I also loved Tiger & Dragon and Hotaru no Hikari and recommend them to anyone looking for a good laugh.

^Tiger & Dragon was pretty good. For a show centered on rakugo, it was surprisingly entertaining. Ito Misaki as "Megumi" was her usual bimbo self, but I'll give her points for having the guts to sleep with
Nagase Tomoya's character
, and, well, maybe just about everyone else...and then getting everyone to do her bidding. (obviously it's the long legs.) Tiger & Dragon wasn't laugh-out-loud funny, and had a few hit-or-miss scenes, but by the end of the show, I was choking up and crying, " Taiga, Taiga, Gilette Taiga," (Tiger, Tiger, Gilette Tiger) along w/ Tora, so I guess that means I had been brainwashed along the way...

Other Japanese drama reccomendations:

Summer Snow
Haike, Chichiuesama
Yasashii Jikan
Watashi no Kyokasho
Slow Dance
Kimi wa Petto

As for Taiwanese dramas, I have to admit I couldn't stomache a lot of it. The only exception so far has been Mars w/ Vic Zhou and Barbie Hsu. I think after the devastatingly embarassing spectacle they made in Meteor Garden (and M G II - shivers - ), I was really wary of seeing them together again. But my early alzheimer's kicked in, and I ended up watching this. Very good, very heavy stuff, with successfully moving acting. They must have done their homework for these roles.

What scene was removed?

I've seen it ages ago, but it was on British TV :monster:

Not sure, there's two parts that could've been removed - at the start, where the kid ties a rock to a fish, frog, and a snake and watches them try to swim, and at the end, where the (new) kid chucks a rock in the mouth of a fish and a frog, not sure about the snake.

Which is valid to the story 'cause the kid at the start of the movie cries after finding out the snake died, and due to the adult one tying a stone to himself and climbing up the mountain.

Loads of symbolism in thar, :monster:. Although I wonder what doing a chick on a rock symbolizes, :monster:.

Anyone ever watched Shinobi? It's a story of forbidden love between the future leaders of two enemy tribes. It's rather weird, but for some reason I loved it...

to me filipino halfs: tayong dalawa sucks my big arse. Even Life on Mars Uk version is a wonderful masterpiece compared to that nonsense. But imo, their first good drama with kimerald when they were still gold was Sana ma ulit muli, after that they've overused it as much as a run down whore. : (

Although I do intend to finish off hana kimi, possibly some korean dramas when I'm bored. I do wanna try Shinsengumi though, heard it's noice and ace. But please, enlighten me, what's the good drama around asia as of late mates?
