I haven't played any of them, but I am a casual observer of the series. Was stoked for Black Flag but interest waned. I like pirates. Is the story worth playing the older ones for or can I just hope right in with Black Flag and Syndicate, the only two I've really had an interest in playing.

Yeah, you should be able to just hop in with Black Flag and Syndicate and be able to get a handle on things. There will be references to characters in past games and such, but nothing that you need to play all of them for.

Bloodrayne, Silent Hill, Far Cry, Prince of Persia were all blegh.

Heh, no arguements with the Prince of Persia movie there. Sadly, and I hope this is false, but I've heard a rumor that the film version of Prince of Persia is gonna have a sequel.

The Tomb Raider movies weren't completely awful in my opinion (and I mean that in a way that I've actually seen worse) but could have been better. I think the rebooted movie franchise with Alicia Vikander will be better.

I've seen movies that were twice as worse than the live action films that you've listed here. You've seen the second reboot of the Fantasic 4 just only a few years after the first live action reboot? THAT is a good example of being a crap movie.

Pirates of the Caribbean were based on the Disney Ride in Disneyland/world which was built back in 1950's, not a video game. With Pirates, it's the other way around since the pirates games were based on the movies(at least the first three were.)

Oh, sorry. My bad. When you said Pirates, the first thing that bursted into my head was Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Didn't know Assassin's Creed had a game that had pirates in it as well. I mean, sure that are pirates in almost every movie/book/games, but my only interest in pirates was, well, the film franchise.

Anyway, looks decent and true enough to the video games and shit in terms of style and action and shit, I dare say even moreso than the PoP movie (which wasn't terrible).

I expect the movie will be mediocre at best though, very hard to compete with the mainstream movies even if it's an established franchise. Video game stories end up being kinda lame on the silver screen. Mind you, that's mostly because this trailer has little to no story in it.

Yeah, that'd be awesome: Assassin's Creed: Rise of the Zombie Apocalypse, lol. Did they do so with Mummies? If not, then the curse of the Mummies are probably up next.

Soooo, I've only had experience of the first AC, but they're including all that 'guy getting regressed with the magic of technology' stuff? I mean those bits were the most pigshit boring bits of the game. I don't know why the fuck they felt they had to do it as if being an Assassin in the olden days and running up fucking walls and jumping off buildings and following some guy for 20 mins while he does his shopping wasn't interesting enough?

Anyway I guess I'll wait for the reviews. Can't say I'm too hopeful.

I loved the mystery of slowly uncovering stuff in the present day bits of the first game. Especially when you pickpocketed the doctor for his keycard or whatever. And the way the game ended...I was stunned "Whaaaaaaaaa-"

It's the present day stuff in the first game that kept me aboard in the series.

Re the trailer, it's pretty good! Hoping Michael Fassbender can pull this off.
