Cait Sith or Reeve

He could have theoretically given life to Aerith. Well, at least to her body. Imagine that; puppet Aerith walking around speaking an irish accent.

If Reeve has this power, why didn't he use it all the time for his job? Urban development, hmm. He could bring cranes to life and they could build flawless infrastructure. ... He could bring the roads to life so they could give him weekly status reports on traffic.
I think we just found the explanation for all the inconsistencies with Midgar. The reason that the parts of Midgar destroyed in AC are whole again in DoC is because, well, Reeve told the city to repair itself. Glad we got that sorted out!

To answer the original question, I'd prefer to keep Cait Sith for the end, considering (if it is the case) that he has been with the party the whole time.

I'd much rather the ending, if it is to be anything similar to the original, have Yuffie and Vincent on the airship with the rest. It's a convenient reason for the sake of the compilation to say they were aiding in the
(I can't imagine "evacuation" was the developers' reasoning at the time - I can't say it wasn't, but I wouldn't bet money it was)
, because the original game wasn't going to have incorporated two hidden characters into the final FMV (that would require four different endings - with both, with none, with one, with the other) - whether or not that's the main reason, they just aren't there regardless, so let 'em stay on for the remake (assuming the ending is similar).

Kinda funny when you think about it: "We'll drop Yuffie and Vincent off at Midgar. The rest of us will stay up here in the airship and watch." :monster:
From the Ultimania: “After having defeated Sephiroth with their companions, while waiting for the Planet’s Judgment, Vincent and Yuffie left the company [i.e. of Cloud and the others] to make an effort to rescue the people of Midgar.” - Then I'm just gonna say the rest weren't arsed :monster:

Tres wrote an extensive article on this aspect of the canon.

The dominating canon is that Vincent and Yuffie fought Sephiroth alongside everyone else, but FFVII co-creator Yoshinori Kitase is misinformed on the matter. When commenting the 10th anniversary of Dirge of Cerberus early this year, he showed to still be mistaken about where Vincent and Yuffie were at the end of disc 3.

See also ForceStealer's priceless reaction. :awesome:

Does that make it not Canon for the past ten years?

Unrelated (and I'm not really even sure what this is in response to so please don't think I'm stirring pots/ being a dick here) but I lol'd so hard at this sass. Tenny sass is so rare, who invoked it XD

I've had a weird day, the laugh was needed.

anyway what was this thread about

Yes Reeve is neat, or whatever. I worry for the potential/probable butchering of my accent in Cait Sith.

I want Cait Sith to be voiced by Billy Connolly. Or Gregor Fisher in full on Rab C Nesbitt mode :monster:

Is my sass really that rare?

I was responded to Ite's post that comes immediately before mine. :P Because like, I can't remember if Tuesti came about with Advent Children or DoC but both were so long ago that does it really matter?

Glad I made your day, Lex. :monster:

I think it was me, and Tennyo knows that I'm being a shit, so that's something. But also, I care about Expanded Canon as much as I care about consistency in the Bible. The original FFVII only made half-sense. The compilation has things like Inspire, Minerva, and Omega who make the OG make even less sense, and now they're going to release a 2-7 part series trying to justify it all?

XD indeed.

This is why I hope they go with less rather than more - that they reinvent the entire thing and treat as a stand-alone thing.
At least by doing that, they can maybe perhaps hopefully write a plot that makes sense within itself this time around.

I could forgive the nonsense in the over-saturized pop-eye land of the original game, but it's going to be hard to ignore it with the new look and feel of the remake...
