Roy Dotrice, 94. One of those actors who isn't exactly famous (at least, from what I can make of it), but seems to have been in quite a lot of things :P.

He played Grand Maester Pycelle in Game of Thrones. I knew I recognised the name.

Edit: he didn't, see below. :P

Kinda need a bit of flexibility for that role.

Definitely missed. I'm really sad that he's gone. May he Rest in Peace.

^Was just coming to post that. So sad :( Philadelphia loves him from the four years he played here (which did include those two milestones), and I'm sure Toronto's sad too, as he played there before for even longer. He'd just been tweeting over the last few weeks over the plane he had bought.

Absolutely gutted. Don't think this will mean much to folks outside of the kpop fandom, but SHINee member Jonghyun was found dead in a hotel in an apparent suicide on Monday. Sis just called me to break the news. Absolutely gutted.

I was never that into kpop myself, especially not to the degree that my sister is, but SHINee was one of the first bands I was into and I grew really attached to the members for their personas moreso than their music. Especially when I'd see them in variety shows. They're a fond favourite and I always appreciated Jonghyun for his sensitivity and good humour.

My heart breaks for his family. My heart breaks for his bandmates. Most of all, my heart breaks for him. To think of what he must've been going through, how low he must've felt, when he decided that he couldn't live on this earth anymore. :(

A doctor reportedly told him that it was a fault in his own person that made him depressed. Wow. Mental health problems have long been stigmatised in the Asian community and are largely silent killers because no one wants to talk about them. I hope, if anything, this will get some folks out east to wake the fuck up and recognise that depression is real and depression kills. :(

I heard about this today. A buddy of mine is devastated and it's just really shitty all round. I can't imagine how big SHINee fans are feeling. :(

I never heard of SHINee or Jonghyun, but I do know now that this is yet another member of the tragic 27 Club, which also includes Robert Johnson, Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, and Amy Winehouse.
