I'll have to agree, I do believe. It might also be because of the Compilation Epic Adventure Timez I'm in the middle of which pushes me towards voting for Cloud. Perhaps if XIII were the last game I had played...

If not Lightning I would have chosen Auron. Final Fantasy needs more stoic, manly badasses.

I blame my ambivalence towards Cloud on the way he was his character and personality was dragged through the mud by the compilations and AU games.

This is true. Even after all that though, I'm pretty sure he's still my favourite. Had he been winning I may have voted for Auron.

I know it's difficult, but as the characters in this competition are only from the main games, it'd be good if you could try to ignore what they were like in the spin-offs and sequels. It's easy for me because I haven't played any of them ^^

I've always loved Spiky, er, Cloud, so I voted for him. Personally, I don't like Lightning that much. If not for Cloud, I probably would've voted Squall (how does he have no votes?!). I've always had a thing for male heroes (for some reason, the feminine ones and ones that look gay are usually my favs). But Auron really isn't that cool to me. Maybe I'm just weird.

Oh, this is a hard choice. I really adore both Cloud and Cecil, but I think that I need to go with Cecil because he needs more love than he tends to get. They're both really well-written, developed characters and I'm very attached to them both, but I kind of suspect that Cloud will do okay without my vote and I feel like Cecil will probably need it more, so there we go.

I'm also quite fond of Ingus, probably at least partly because FFIII DS was my introduction the series and, even with its faults, I have a soft spot for the game and characters. Still, he doesn't manage to beat out either Cecil or Cloud.

I just want to see her beat Auron and Cecil who are two stupidly overrated characters. Come fight me.

Cecil I can understand. I like him, but idk he's kind of dull. Why don't you like Auron though?

And yeah, Ingus is waaay outmatched. Although tbh, he'd probably be outmatched in any group. FFIII characters just don't have any pull. Their personalities come up short because they were molded into the game. They each have different personalities, but they don't stand out much. Plus I think the only western release of the game was on the DS, right?

He has the same number of votes as Squall

I'm surprised Auron isn't doing better. He got the most votes for any character in the whole series in the initial polls, and that's not just because the rest of the cast did really badly; Yuna was fourth overall (same number of votes as Cloud, who is dominating this group), Lulu was seventh, and Rikku was thirteenth. They all qualified, making X the best-represented game in this tournament. So what happened to all of Auron's support?

Are you counting votes or percentage there? I'm guess votes as you say "got the most votes". So maybe just a lot of people voted in the FFX poll?
