Character Battle: Group 3

This was a tough poll but I had to go with my heart and went with Vivi. By and large the sweetest character to have ever existed withing the FF universe and when I first played the game all those years ago he really made me question what it means to live.

Plus I have a cat named after him.

I never thought I'd do this, but my vote went to Yuna. There are three other characters that I know from this group (Vivi, Zidane and Aeris) but non of them has made such an impact on me, that I would actually vote for any of them.

Now that I went through these characters, I noticed that I actually quite like Yuna. Even though she is not the most confident character, she is still really brave and she knows, what she wants to achieve. And it's really inspiring how she has learned to smile and be brave for the people she's defending. So in the end, I made the right choice.

As you guys are beginning to discuss tactical voting, this would be a good time to explain how the quarter-finals are going to work.

Each group winner will play a runner-up from another group. The winner with the most votes will go head-to-head with the runner-up who got the fewest votes, and so on, so even if the character you want to vote for is already winning, your vote could help them get an easier quarter-final - not that there will be many easy quarter-finals, as everyone keeps saying how hard the groups are!

Ok, so for example if it ended right now we'd have:

Aerith (12) vs Vivi (8)

Fang (8) vs Lightning (10)

This group is strange to me because I only 'know' two of the characters. I'm gonna have to go with Aerith. Not that she's a poor choice; I absolutely love Aerith. But y'all really got me interested in this Vivi character now!

A very lovely character (not in the physical way). In fact, I personally love him more than Zidane. So young and so innocent and so pure then suddenly subjected to the concepts of death, existence and non-existence. Looking for the answers of what it means to live. And the ending... god! The ending. Ultimately one of my all time favorite characters.

Laguna, Kiros and Ward deserve their own game, IMO. Easily the best characters in VIII.

And I have such loyalty to IX, and you put two characters from it in the same poll?

...Zi got my vote, cos I have an affinity for rogue/thief characters.

I voted for Vivi. He was already through to the next round, but my vote helped him draw level with Lightning from group 1, which ended up giving him a supposedly easier quarter-final. I say supposedly, because he's now up against Kain, and I like them both, so it's harder for me :\
