She can wag her tail and has feeling in her legs, but I don't know if it's because she can't or because she won't but she doesn't stand or walk. She's tried to drag herself, but obviously I don't let her.
The vet said there was a 50/50 chance of the steroids we're giving her working, but I'm thinking he was probably being pretty generous.

But... well... we'll see.

So, I'm just a bit depressed.

But on the plus side, she acts pretty much normal other than the not being able to walk thing. Her tail couldn't wag before but now it does some times, and she can kinda stand when I put her on her hind legs, but I dont' know for how long because I make her sit again since she's basically on bed rest.

Sounds like she may need some sort of dog physical therapy. Do they have that?

The only other option for her is surgery, which costs $5000. There's no way we can afford that. And even if we could, it's a lot of pain and such for something that might not even work.

Once she's okay to move, you can try getting her to stand up on her own, rebuild the muscles she hurt, if at all possible.

It's not her muscles. It's her back. She pretty much broke it. If these pills don't work then we have to put her to sleep.There is no other option.

She hasn't lost any muscle mass. It's all her back.

Okay, I'm thinking of this from my standpoint of when I can't move well. Sorry. >>;

Yeah, well when a dauchshund breaks their back there isn't much you can do usually.

She slipped a disk or something, which may as well be a broken back.

I really apologize, I've been in a damper mood lately so I basically can't motivate myself, and I've been having bad headaches. I've been able to complete another button for my new skin though, so I guess that's some progress.
