Yeah, deep cuts on the fingers are the WORST when it comes to clotting. I was at work once, putting up some signage in the bakery. The old ones were tied to the racks by means of those super heavy duty plastic ties, so I was having to cut them off. I slipped and cut off the end of my left thumb (no more than a mebbe a quarter of an inch?).
At first, it didn't even hurt. I SAW it happen, and was just kinda dazed, like "hoshit, that's bad O_O", and it wasn't until about ten second later that the pain kicked in. All they did was give me a fucking band-aid and tell me to stop being a baby (
), which I bled through about five of, as well as four latex gloves. I ended up going to the emergency room after my shift when it was still bleeding after six hours. Turns out there's lots of tiny blood vessels in the fingers, which is why they bleed so much. It didn't stop until about 14 hours after I'd cut it.
Couldn't use my hand right for the longest time afterward.
