Screen resolution is always the same and I guess quality is otherwise dependant on the cable and tv you use. The PSP used shouldn't make a difference I think.

Some say however the LCD screen problems are too apparent. Which is why I couldn't decide.

But I'm happy there exists a console with enough games to interest me in the future. Crisis Core, Dissidia, other FF titles, and maybe even Kingdom Hearts : Birth By Sleep.
So when I am no longer occupied with FFVII, owns ACC, and have an even more stable economy I will buy the above titles.

Checkout a DS when you've got the money as well (something else I have had to sell cause of money probs.) Get the FF tactics games.

I don't mind that the DS is a Nintendo franchise. And I can see the aesthetics of having menus and such be on a separate screen. But why let the CG scenes play out on both screens at once? How do you even watch that?

I'm resetting my playstation because I have to get the right values for each character's level-ups in FFVII. The console is working fine...so far.
