Cloud's stance similar to Obi Wan?

Don't know if it's just me but when Cloud is in punisher mode his stance looks really similar to Obi Wan's from Star Wars?


Same with the first part of Cloud's cross-slash. Just find it interesting

I think it's just based on a samurai stance, and Obi Wan's probably is as well.

Sephiroth does it too (though left-handed, off course)

I think the only one of those you never really see Cloud use is Shin no Kamae, no surprise considering his swords typical girth. Maybe once in AC with smaller fusion sword bits, hard to say without frame by frame.

Just realized that Cloud definitely uses a rough variation on shin no kamae for his up smash attack in smash ultimate, so he actually does all of those somewhere
